Am I the only fine with how the NFL protects Quarterbacks?

The best football is when you have competent quarterbacks.

I'm totally fine with the way the rules are.

Co-sign. I think NFL need to let em be more physical with the WR's, but QB gotta be protected. Ain't nobody tryna tune into a game and see a bunch of Austin Davis's :scusthov:

negged for liking the pussification of the game. In 2005, 2 guys threw for 4,000 yards. In 2011, 3 threw for 5,000 yards. In 2002, Tom Brady led the league with 28 touchdown passes. Peyton threw 55 last year. I forget all the other shocking numbers, but this one should do it. Through 2007, only Dan Marino had ever thrown for 5,000 yards in a season. Since 2008, Drew Brees has done it 4 times, Peyton Manning twice I think, I think Brady did it twice, Matt Stafford has, and Eli fukking Manning came just 67 yards short of it too. In 2013, Peyton's 49 td pass season, his passes went 8.4 yards through the air on average. They went 6.2 last year. 49% of his yards were after the catch. Not being allowed to cover or hit anyone is bad for the game.

that's more to do with the overall defense not being able to be as aggressive with WR's than it is anything to do with hitting QB's.

Nah fukk that "you can't hit the qb bs". This is football. If you're wearing a helmet, you're fair game. I ain't interested in seeing any more cases like where Sizzle gets pushed from behind at Brady, Brady dodges him but almost get hit, looks at the ref while waving for a flag, and then gets one in spite of the fact that he didn't get hit. Upshaw got a roughing the passer flag for sacking big ben with a Bill Goldberg type spear. How the hell else is someone supposed to bring down ben? The man is built like a fukking moose.

I don't disagree, but does it make the game better when you can't hit hard? I say no.

Think for a second - if it were to become more commonplace for QBs to get injured, then backups in general would not be as bad as they are today. Keeping the starters this protected contributes to how poorly the backups play (not the sole reason, but a large factor).

If you can imagine the league with QBs getting injured let's say 5-10% more than they do now, then by that same measure, there would be 5-10% better play from backups. Teams would inherently draft, coach, and develop backups to the same degree they do starters due to that higher probability.

My grievance is consistency. Take a hard look at how much time white QBs get to throw on obvious passing downs. Black QBs get much less time to throw and are generally running for their life. The announcer then comes in with some "Peyton is a genius because he recognizes blitz and adjust the protection" type BS. The NFL knows that whites only make up 20-30 percent of the league now and they dont want that number going down. They also want white faces at the QB position. I am not saying the white boys can't play because they can but the white QB is definitely a protected species. You might think black pass rushers would get after the white boys just as much if not more but they know where their bread is buttered and that NFL chee$e is finger lickin' good. You can get black balled from a team or the NFL in general if you don't fall in line. Do an experiment. Watch a Colts, Patriots or Broncos game very carefully. On third a longs count the seconds from snap to release of the throw over the whole game. Now take an average of those numbers and then do the same for a seahawks, 49ers or when RgIII gets back, a Skins game. I know some OL are better than others but if you take a hard look it will shake your faith in the integrity of this league. the difference is massive and sites like PFF hide the real delta imo.

Ain't nothing worse than a starting cb getting injured. shyt becomes embarrassing.

CB's should get special rules.

Wake.
I agree with OP tbh.

What was the last major injury to a legit starting QB? And I mean like from a singular hit, not RGIII falling over himself and tearing/breaking something.

:mjlol: dumbest shyt I read all day, I can see u said they hit blacks qbs more and get flagged less, cause I think that happens cause refs sometimes get defenders the benefit of the doubt against runnings qbs, but to say the defensive go harder at blacks qbs then white is dumb as shyt:mjlol:
