Am I the only one that has no plans to every read an entire book again?

I only read for knowledge. I watch movies for entertainment.

Although a lot of books are better stories than movies with a lot more detail but I haven't read a novel/fiction in a long time. Last book I read that had nothing to do with knowledge/religion was "Iceberg Slim - Pimp" back in 07 or 08.

I also do a lot of reading online so I dunno :manny:

Damn, still haven't read that one...and it's interesting that you only read for knowledge, I mostly read for entertainment, which with good novels is also knowledge IMO...

Anyway OP it might be that you haven't found books that spark your interest, it could be about anything really...I have a couple of friends who hardly ever read but who told me that they absolutely devoured that "Iceberg Slim" book...you got books about everything, and I do think that in books you can go deeper into a subject, take time to pause and reflect on whatever you just read etc...whatever your interest, you can be sure that there's a great book about it somewhere.

i read alot......but not books, however, i dont think i have the patience to read a book, most of the info i take in is lost within minutes cuz im not interested in reading "BOOKS". not that its boring, im just not interested.

last book that interest me was the "learning tree" and that was back in like 6th grade or something and the only reason i was interested by it was because it had a part about sex and as you read about big mabel thick sexy body one cant help but to get hard 8========D...... i use to read alot of playboy like sex boOKs, those were interesting...just hearing how people describe the vagina kept me hooked in.

The book "Pimp" is great. I actually feel like reading it again but I'm not sure where I've put it. I will have to look around and see if I can find it cause I do want to read it again. I've read it about 2 or 3 times. 1st time was in 01, then again in 07 or 08 and I might have read it another time in between those years.

Definitely worth a read tho.

Novels >>>

Reading It right now. shyts horrifying. The Forever War is next

IT is a great book. I mean, to me, its a masterpiece. Its definitely my favorite book ever written.

It starts off slow. But once the story develops, you won't want to put the book down. You'll find yourself rooting for the protagionists, and you'll have no idea how it ends, until its over.

Oh, okay sweet.

I blame teachers treating knowledge as a disciplinary punishment instead of a pleasure. Especially in America where people go overboard on standardized testing and traditional methods of teaching. That is why I have respect for a very few teachers, similar to how I feel with cops.

Changing my words? :shaq2: I do blame the teachers for killing the joy of learning at a young age. People don't realize that the early years are vital for mental growth of a child and people need to realize that sometimes a lack of good support at home and bum ass teachers that use reading as a form of punishment destroys the urge to learn.
