Am I the only one that hates almost every song cover they hear?

So every now and then, I get bored and start to browse youtube to listen to my favorite jams. I sometimes find myself even listening to covers of some of my favorite songs to see how other people do it. Usually when I hear people do covers of songs, I feel like they're trying so hard to make it sound like a creation of theirs that it doesn't really sound like the original anymore.

This wouldn't be so much of a problem if the people doing it were actually good enough to do it.. Lotta good singers out here but if you think your mediocre singing is enough to replace what made the original good.

Yep 99% of them don't do anything for me, on rare occasion they do though. Usually it's an obscure song that I found out is actually a cover and go back and listen to the orginal.

Yep, especially them basic as fukk acoustic/indie covers of rap songs, that some people automatically think are better than the original.

I love good covers. I'm not one of those people who believes there's only 1 way to do a song or that it must be as close to the "original" version as possible. If it's good, it's good.
Y'all probably just don't truly love music.

I don't dislike covers.. I just always hated how people I knew that don't like rap would always say stupid shyt like "Rappers can't even come up with their own stuff, they use other peoples music".. but they would never complain about cover songs.. which are exact copies of already existing songs. At least in rap songs samples are just that, samples.. a brief excerpt from another song.. not an exact replica, word for word of another song performed by another artist.
