I rarely listen to covers unless it's a really good one.

A cover takes nothing away from the original. Go listen to the original if you're that offended by it.

If a bad cover makes the original song less awesome then it wasn't very good in the first place. You never have to hear the cover ever again if you don't want to. Forget about it and listen to the original.

99% of youtube covers are garbage

the woat is when some cac does a shytty acoustic guitar version of some well-written rap song and all the other cacs with shytty taste say it's better than the original

playing your 4-chord melody you learned from a youtube video, and singing badly while making dramatic facial expressions is not impressive

I do agree that the great majority of covers are terrible though, that's not a groundbreaking revelation. Most people think so.

Sounds like a problem with the rigidity of your mind, similar to people who couldn't enjoy rap songs that sampled songs from the 70s and 80s.
You're putting up a mental block that won't even allow to enjoy the actual music.

That's funny, I'm the kind of dude that actually loves rap from the 90s and back and doesn't like much of the new shyt (due to lack of lyrical diversity, diversity of flow... blablabla).

Rap from the 90s isn't copying rap from the 80s, which isn't copying rap from the 70s. It all sounds unique and original, so I don't get what the issue is here. These cover songs are exact copies of the original, albeit worse.
