Am I the only one who didn’t respect Marlo Stanfield from the wire?

If nothing else, he chose one hell of an enforcer in Partlow.

I always think Avon would have been damn near unstoppable with Partlow under him. One of the major reasons Barksdale failed was because of all the weak hearted (D'angelo), overly ambitious (Bell), disilliusioned (Cutty) and incompetent (Shamrock) goons he had on deck.

Even when shyt was looking grim he was making progress with Slim.

That final scene when Marlo ditches the big wigs he bought into to see what was happening on the street and nearly got jumped by two hoppers who didn't even know who the fukk he was.:skip:

Them words that Avon imparted on him started to hit home as he had to walk the fukk on with a cut arm and the legend of Omar being weaved by the streets who revered him while quickly forgetting just who the fukk he was trying to be at the start of the gottdamned summer. :mjlol:

That's why it's the wild wild west nowadays.

If only Pacs code of THUGLIFE was enforced in these streets.

Man I still don't get why they was scared of this scrawny nikka for tho?!?:what:

Probably because his second-in-command had the highest body count on the show. By a considerable margin.

Marlo had no patience for any perceived threat or disrespect and always responded to those things by having somebody put down ASAP.

It's not about fearing the man. It's about fearing the consequence of fukking with the man.

Slim Charles was that dude. Unfortunately for him he always seemed to end up as the star player on an otherwise inept team. :francis:

He’d got killed in real life.

One, anyone who comes into the drug game as evil and brutal as Marlo did would eventually get dealt with. Contrary to popular opinion, drug dealers like making money and staying low. Not having to constantly deal with some crazy sadistic nikka killing people out in the open like a deranged serial killer. A cat like Avon or Prop Joe is who cats would prefer doing business with.

Two, there’s no way in fukk the other dealers in Baltimore would let some 23 year old kid come to the round table like Marlo did talking about the brick just doubled. With only three, four people for muscle. Lol. They would’ve took him out and quick.
he wasn’t killing people out in the open at all. He was getting people killed for months to years without anybody knowing and took over

:dwillhuh: if anything that was the most unnecessary killing

Prop Joe was no threat to Marlo

I actually liked Marlo but that was the one thing I hated

I also ain't like when Bodie died but he was snitching

Marlo still one of my overall favorite characters tho
he had to kill prop joe. He wanted to be the leader of the streets, he would never get the connect with joe being around and the Greeks gave him the ok to do it when he went to the meeting with them. And he couldn’t let joe live cause joe was smart and woulda been a pain in the house down the line

Avon respected Cutty and his decision to leave the game behind, dirty ass Marlo would have killed him for walking away.

Avon was the GOAT only bum ass stringer had to ruin everything. He really was about to murk Marlo at the rim shop
