it's all in how you organize it in your head. it's about discipline.
i won't use my credit card to buy something i don't have the cash for in the bank. also, i'm not an impulsive buyer at all. i'll spend months on researching what's the best cellphone with the best plan for what i need. rarely go shopping for clothes, don' own any video games, etc. and i'm pretty aware of my cashflow.
having said all that, i can put everything on my credit card cause i know exactly when i should stop, what i can/can't afford, etc. CC is very convenient in that sense because it makes things less messy (everything on one bill) you can actually review your bill and see if you're doing too much, plus you get rewards. ironically, they also end up making me save money because they reduce the amount of change i have in my pockets. I have the bad habit of perceiving change in my pocket as disposable (this is also a lack of discipline on my part).
CCs are not a trap or evil. they're a tool. a kitchen knife can help you cut meat but it can also cut your finger if you're not careful. but if you know yourself well enough and know you shouldn't fukk with credit cards, you're actually ahead of the game by not having one. everyone has their own issues. for some it's money, some it's simping, and some it's food (me)...
