besides the fact that RZA made beats like Bring The Pain in 1991 when he was probably a similar age, the argument is about producers from the past having a sound as their signature rather than making generic sounding beats and having a baby say their name to drop so we know who made it. i don't even mind the drops it's just that it's on a fukkin retail album, why do you need to put your drop all over a song on a retail album? mixtape? yeah, beat tapes to send to artists? of course or shyt gets stolen but on a retail album :wtf:

RZA didnt leave a mark until 1993.. he was already 24

this whole topic is stupid tho.

if u dont like Young Chop's shyt then stop playing his beats all day long :lawd:

I don't like sounded just like lowlife by gunplay and torch. Or did they freestyle over that beat?

He doesn't suck, but he is overrated.

I have yet to see growth and development from him on any of his beats. He sounds like every other trap copy cat clone. He stays in his comfort zone and keeps putting out generic music that sounds like every trap producer.

a RZA beat didn't have "prince rakeem on the beat" at the start of EVERY fukkin beat ever. producers who ACTUALLY have their own sound don't use drops at the start so you can identify their beats

what a dumbass post :snoop: drops weren't even a thing back then you fukking dunce...so now Alchemist, Jahlil Beats, Harry Fraud, Lex Luger, Just Blaze, Araabmuzik, Bangladesh, Drumma Boy, Justice League, Street Runners, Zaytoven all sound the same because they use drops? do you realize how stupid you sound?

chop is far and away producer of the year, if you can't hear the variation and versatility in his beats you aren't listening...sure a majority of his beats may have a similar feel or sound to them, but the same could be said for every "legendary" producer yall are naming off in here....

nikkas got the nerve to bring up RZA and Premier :laff: i can tell half you nikkas in here talkin that shyt just said it to fit in and give a safe nikka answer, you nikkas aint really listening tho

as if RZA's beats didn't all have the same chords and karate sounds/samples in them...as if he didn't pioneer the sped up/slowed down soul sample sound that your heroes KANYE AND JUST BLAZE RAN INTO THE GROUND in the early 2000s...

as if Premo didn't use the same boom bap sounds for all his "classic" beats yall praise so much, chopping up a bunch of lyrics from other songs for hooks :usure:

every great producer has a signature sound, Chop is fine tuning his now...and like @nineteeneightysix has been saying in this thread, all of his big songs sound nothing alike

3Hunna has a unique sound

I Don't Like has such a unique sound that your boy Kanye decided to redo it and faq it up

Everyday has a unique sound

Love Sosa has a unique sound

the nerds in here whining about him being overrated or dull or repetitive are just backpackers or old heads who can't cope with the direction hip-hop production is headed in general, they see no problem criticizing the new school for having a signature sound while dikkriding the old school BECAUSE of their signature sound

Like timberland said why do these nikkas have the 808 turned up so fukkin high nowadays? It's to a point where all you can hear is bass. All those trap beat producers are 1 trick ponies to me. They might be hot for a few years but end up burning out with some new imitation of an imitation coming on the scene.
And typical response from you Chief Keef groupies to even try to claim that nikka even close to being producer of the year. Alchemist, Harry Fraud, T-minus, Hit Boy, DJ mr. rogers, and Mike Will would like to have a word.

Dude got some heat I won't front. I think he's been overrated tho, but no more than any other producer with a popular movement that came before.

That being said, you can pick any random SoundClick "producer" and probly get similar results if you wanna talk about his progressions and overall choices. :hmm:

He doesn't suck tho.
