Am I the only person with many consoles and games, who plays WAY less now than before?

As many of you, gaming began as this huge amazing portal to other worlds - for me it started in the Arcades playing NBA Jam Tournament Edition and playing on my cousins Commodore 64. Since then I've always played mad video games, bought almost all consoles and currently I own a PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, Megadrive and the NES Classic and I have rough guesstimate 200 games for these consoles.

I had the best times ever playing games like MGS2, Gears of War, Call of Duty, NBA Street Vol 2 (best bball game ever imho) and sooo many other games and famous franchises.

My passion for gaming was so big that 9 years ago I decided to take a leap of faith and move countries to start working in games. I still work in games today and am having a somewhat successful career in games, currently working in Production on a very famous mobile game.

BUT...

starting in about 2014-2015 I started playing a lot less games. I did however still buy the PS4 (played Destiny, utter garbage as a game but the most beautiful game I had seen in years) and the Xbox One (which I bought in September or something and did not open until probably 6 months later... which was a pretty big sign.

Now in 2017: I play MAYBE 1-2 hours per week (and it's usually 1 game: Just Cause 3 on PS4) but there are many weeks I don't play anything at all. Only thing I might play is things on mobile, to check because of work and because sometimes it's fun. I am enjoying a friend's game (Almost A Hero) and another tapper (Tap Titans 2). I also had a period where I was playing Hearthstone, but that faded.

So my question: do any of you guys/girls have this issue where you have a bunch of consoles and a bunch of (new, unopened) games (like I have The Last of Us, played 30 mins... and games like The Witcher 3 sitting around and I can go on and on about the games I have that never got any burn) - but you're just not playing anymore.

And it's not about if I'm seeing someone, whether I'm seeing someone or not doesn't play a role. I am just not feeling it I guess. A part of if is working with games, but another part is just that sometimes I have a hard time taking myself serious playing a video game as a grown man with loads of ambition. Which makes no sense since part of my ambitions are tied up with my gaming career....

Just wondering if anybody is having this issue too and is it a dip, is it.. something that just happens as you grow up? My ambitions have definitely changed: paper, cars, a dope *ss crib and of course also girls/relationships have come into the picture way more intensely over the years.. but still. I have down time and don't play.

I just do not get hype for any games. Last time I was actually hype for a game was GTA V.. this came out in Sept 2013. Almost 4 years ago..

I still desire to play a lot but I work 40hours a week, sometimes more and I have other things going where I can't be playing all day. I still browse/read about games daily though. Passion is still there. I still get amped up and geeked out over a select few games every year or so.

Yeah I noticed this about myself a few years back when i had a PS4,XBox One,Wii U,and hella games and they all was collecting dust

Nowadays I just stick to the One and sports games and I don't even play that often...maybe once or twice a week I'll play a game or 2

Occasionally I'll cop something else that I know I'll play but I don't cop every game that has a little buzz like i used to

When you have excess of anything, the entire ordeal becomes lackluster. Moderation is the key to life. That's the easy answer.

A more in-depth answer?
You getting older, you DO have a love interest and your desire is to live an adventure instead of sitting at home wishing you could. That's what we did as children, now it's time to live, you gotta workout, make goals, blah blah blah. Eventually you'll come back to gaming but it's good to step away sometimes...

Even deeper answer?
As videogames evolve, what are they evolving to? Games tell stories, our children will be influenced by them the same way Captain planet taught us about global warming :hula: The care bears taught us how to love :hula: Smurfs taught us not to trust the white man/etc.

Where is gaming headed? All I see is :demonic: shyt. Gaming like most things that are popular in this life is a tool used by the devil to take your attention away from accomplishing whatever it is that God put you here to do :wow: I tried to walk away once, but I'm a sinner :sadbron:

Even if you're not religious, the direction, the energy should be recognizable :francis:

I don't really have the time anymore myself. That's why Switch is perfect for me. Console quality gaming on the go :blessed:

Did but Injustice 2 though and ran through story mode this weekend. Some games just make you want to stop everything and play.

I have an xb1, ps4, Wii u, og jailbroken ps3, Xbox 360, gaming laptop , jail broken 3ds xl, jailbroken N3ds, and a jailbroken Vita.

I recently just start playing my n3ds because I can play it on lunch break. It's not that I'm not into games anymore. Life just kinda picked up with work outs, women and work. I'd buy the latest game just to not even finish it.

Gonna try and get back into it this summer tho.
