Am I the only person with many consoles and games, who plays WAY less now than before?

I hardly buy games. Everything in my minimalist catalogue are only games I'm fanatically urged to play.

I play games for the immersion and narrative they can provide. I don't play games for the sake of its "gaminess" like a lot of people here. I don't keep up with the culture or the hype of what's considered the most technical GOTY.. I just don't feel connected to video games in the same way, espcially as I've grown older.

for me it's not as simple as having less time as I got older. I really didn't game much in my 20's, cause I was busy running around in the skreets, going to the club, etc.

same for those with young kids. eventually they gonna grow up, and won't require so much of your time (hopefully)

once I got to my late 30's :old: I got back into gaming a lot. it also probably has something to do with the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere now

Nah you're not alone. Since graduating college I don't have time for that shyt (hell, I barely did IN college). Most free time after work is spent working out and prepping for grad school.
This post right here :laff:
This thread is about games, your broke ass just wanted to stunt cuz you finished your strayer college degree :francis:

Pretty much this. Most of the people on this board are in their 20s & 30s, it would honestly be weird if they were playing the same amount that they did when they were 15. With how crazy life is I have to specifically set time aside to be able to play.

When you have excess of anything, the entire ordeal becomes lackluster. Moderation is the key to life. That's the easy answer.

A more in-depth answer?
You getting older, you DO have a love interest and your desire is to live an adventure instead of sitting at home wishing you could. That's what we did as children, now it's time to live, you gotta workout, make goals, blah blah blah. Eventually you'll come back to gaming but it's good to step away sometimes...

Even deeper answer?
As videogames evolve, what are they evolving to? Games tell stories, our children will be influenced by them the same way Captain planet taught us about global warming :hula: The care bears taught us how to love :hula: Smurfs taught us not to trust the white man/etc.

Where is gaming headed? All I see is :demonic: shyt. Gaming like most things that are popular in this life is a tool used by the devil to take your attention away from accomplishing whatever it is that God put you here to do :wow: I tried to walk away once, but I'm a sinner :sadbron:

Even if you're not religious, the direction, the energy should be recognizable :francis:
Ok ok..

Smurfs. White devils. We do get older and want to LIVE adventures. BUT.. what about movies? What about sports: we don't stop watching those in general. I think the access to anything and the excess you talk about is a real issue.

P.S. Is that you Courtdog? Like.. SOHH Court?

:jbhmm:

If so negruh we go bike nh - you still a PS nikkah huh?
