Honestly, I don’t mind it in the club (it’s good club music since it’s basically house music with South African twist). But it’s not something I’m going to listen to in my house or in the car whilst driving.
Also, one thing that put me off it a bit is how Zimbabweans & South Africans started getting clannish about it once the genre got some traction. I remember when Major League DJz brought Amapiano to London & how everyone supported it. To now get clannish over it, is just stupid.
Us black Brits don’t get enough credit for making Afrobeats & Amapiano mainstream music. Both genres got big in London before the rest of the world embraced them. So, we need more credit.
