If amapiano was so hot drake would’ve already copied it and made a hit

He stays 2 steps ahead

Plus that jersey club sound got black music on a choke hold.

Amapiano is too European of a sound

Worldwide popular music still borrows heavily from black American music. People are still playing our OLD stuff and just putting their language over it. Making variations to break beat and house, jazz , soul, it’s all still evident. The Brit’s try to take credit for the DJ L drill pattern too. I’m not just talking about the diaspora, I’m talking about the Asians as well who didn’t even change the drum patterns. From City Pop to the whole damn Persona 5 soundtrack

We not late to nothing because we provided a significant amount of the blue print. Blacks in general innovate and the others take
you talking about mainstream pop im talking about continental african music

south africans are literally putting their own tribal drums over the tracks, again were y'all making drums like that. closest thing I know of is called shrine music by some 5% members

in terms of drill they probably talking about the uk garage element which i'm pretty sure comes from jungle but i dont know the history of that side of music to tell you

you're assuming drake has even mastered his own take on the sound, drake only touches thing when feels like he has a reasonable control of finesse on it

You're super late wit this bruh..

I feel like black Americans catch on to black things so late that don't come from their own culture. Respectfully...

While the rest of us are in a melting pot.
I’m Nigerian and I’m just now really listening to it even though I been hearing the name for a while.

Amapiano is already penetrating afrobeats. Most afrobeats artists from Ghana and Nigeria have an amapiano song and Asake built his while sound around it and he is the wave right now in Naija and Ghana
