Well, when I woke up Monday morning, about four other FBA sellers jumped on my listing. As they had no stock, I still was winning the Buy Box. One of the sellers started to get some of their inventory in Tuesday afternoon. The others and Amazon won't get anything in until the 28th. This seller has a better selling history than this account and quite a number of SKUs. I received enough data for four winning exact match key phrases and bumped the budget up to $500. This is the result until I lost the Buy Box.

I got an additional 19 organic sales. Dumbo was too impatient and tried to win the Buy Box by dropping the list price to $34.99. I used the repricer from RepriceIt to teach 'em a lesson. I only have 14 units left. I should be depleted by mid-afternoon tomorrow if I get the Buy Box around that time. I created this journal as proof to someone who said it couldn't be done from scratch in another thread and another person PM'ing me saying that I was full of shyt. That was the primary purpose with the secondary being a means to inspire others. When it comes to this shyt, most people don't take the first step. My hope is that this removes some of that apprehension and gives you the confidence to try this or anything else working for self related.

"Well, here at last, dear friends, on page 34 of this thread comes the end of our Amazon journey on TheColi. Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil." - Amdalf

awesome job man!

You know what? That might be a good idea. When I get a chance, I'll move everything over to a thread of its own.

I'm doing wholesale from brands. I'm not doing private label . . . yet. I'm thinking of trying to manufacture a product stateside. Either I have a lot of MAGA buyers or Americans, in general, are trending towards wanting to pay a premium for Made In USA products. I keep getting questions on whether the item is made in China.

However, this video from a guy I'm subscribed to doesn't give me a lot of confidence. I was thinking about this very subject on the weekend and this dropped yesterday.

=====

I forgot that I set an end date for the price I sold the product at for Mother's Day. It expired this morning. I looked in the order section to check on a few sales and wondered to myself when did I change the price. The price of my item is listed @ $39.99 from $34.99. I've made 5 sales. One was at the old price, three @ the new price and one is @ $0.00 (this usually means it's a replacement item - if the buyer doesn't return the old one, Amazon will credit me for it).

What we found the last time we were doing product research and supplier quotations was this:

USA manufacturers almost always want big MOQ

if you can afford the bigger MOQ it might be worth it (especially given that you save on the shipping)

I still say for PL to go higher in price if you have a choice (bundle to get there if need be)

@LeVraiPapi saw my original product and he knows what I'm saying...Had I not introduced a 2 pack (3 and 6 packs on the way) it may have failed! I'd say the numero uno way to make PL work best is to fully understand the audience you sell to and have a test audience ready to market to them (off Amazon) if possible. With the difficulty of getting reviews nowadays and the many "launch" strategies effectively going into the shytter, it's that much more important to utilize audiences

What I've seen some folks do is drum up enthusiasm using Instagram/Pinterest then use a survey/poll to lock down the needs of the audience and then fine-tune the product based on their feedback (or find an entirely new product that you wouldn't find by traditional means!)

Hope this helps you guys!

Oh I see.

How do you source? Gow much inventory did you buy?

FBA or FBM?

From distributors of major brands. a$$holes online complicate finding suppliers and make people pay thousands of dollars for information they put in a course that can be found with a simple Google search. I just look for the exhibitors list for trade shows. I use a web scraper to put the info in a spreadsheet (especially if it's one of the large ones like that contains hundreds of pages of companies), excluding certain words like liquidate/liquidator,etc., check for a web presence, check if a resale cert is required and contact them via phone/email. I've even contacted major brands for their distributors list.

I have 8 SKUs I handle on my primary account with my highest volume SKU @ 850 units, on average, every two to three weeks. I have zero competition on this one and I have an actual contract with them where I'm the only authorized seller on Amazon. Best $1500 I've ever spent for a contract. My second best SKU is about 200 units a month.

I set up this secondary one to focus on B2B with Amazon's Business Seller program. However, as mentioned above, I used the journey in this thread to prove a point. Now that it's finished, I'm going to focus on that. I'm just waiting on my HUB cert approval.

Bought some legit UPC codes from Ebay not tied to anything to use for new listings. Does amazon really double check to make sure you register them shyts with gs1?

I know they didn't before but that was like 6-7 years ago and i'm not trying to take no more risks :bryan:

Should have bought from nationwide. Never buy from eBay. Never!

@MasterOfAllHeSurveyz trynna get into wholesale for real right now. It seems a little hard to find good distributors honestly. Currently still looking for some good distributors.

Go get your resale certificate for your state first. A reputable supplier won't even talk to you without it.

Next, go to Google and type in "trade exhibitions usa".

Click on "More Events".

Click on one and check if they have a website. If they do, look for exhibitors list.

Start from the top of the exhibitors list or randomly pick a company that descriptive about what they do in their business name/description e.g. General Merchandise or Home Decor.

On their website, if they have a cart with prices, I'll usually ignore them as they're most likely liquidators and not real authorized distributors.

If they're the real deal, sign up, and when accepted, check the website for a product list or contact them for one. At a minimum, it must contain a UPC or related identifier and the price per unit. You take the file they give you or you have to create it yourself and run it through a product analyzer. You can set filters based on the BSR, ROI, Margin, # of FBA/FBM sellers, Is Sold By Amazon, Reviews, etc.

I just uploaded a short screencast of the process I use for finding legit suppliers using an exhibitors' list. It's criminal how these "gurus" put this simple shyt behind a thousand dollar and higher paywall for their "course".

Nah. Obly tool I use is Helium10.
Mercari is another selling platform, mostly for mobile but I been hearing more & more about it lately. Has a lot of bad reviews in the app store though for some reason.

Was looking for more platforms to branch out on in addition to Amazon & Ebay and was thinking I may try it out.

Honestly the best thing is to create your own website. Watch Shark Tank and see how people making crazy money on theit own website.

More longevity that way
