Please point me to how you got Alexa connected to security cameras?

I bought this :

Let me rephrase -- My nest security cam is next to Alexa, so I can use my phone to interact with Alexa through the speaker on the cam and talk shyt to any possible intruder in the crizzo.

You can change the voice plus you don't gotta talk to it. You call it, like for example the lady named it "Alexa" so she says Alexa when she wants it to do something.

With the Echo, you only have three names you can use - Alexa, Echo or Amazon. You can't name it what you want. If you have the remote, you don't have to say a name, aka the wake word. You can press a button and just be like "turn on entertainment center."

I was afraid of that. I have a 8 channel security system with hardrive. Was hoping it was possible to hook alexa into that. These Nest's are cool though as i do use them in some of my other businesses.

Not interested in the whole home automation but I'm going for some smart bulbs

The lifx was my top choice but I'm still thinking of going with the Philips Hue

Yeah, the LiFx is more expensive, but it has a better range of colors. It's also brighter. Can't go wrong with the Hues, though.

Yeah, I heard about that too. With devices that are "always listening" you have to be careful about what you talk about around them (or disconnect it.) You never know. I'm not really paranoid about it, so it's whatever for me.

the LiFX is cheaper, the color Hues are really expensive plus they require the hub

I have no need for them but the child in me is dying to get it

also the Nest outdoor camera has a mic and speaker built in

Really? I thought the LIFX were more expensive. One of the reasons why I went with it, was the no hub aspect. I say treat yourself, man. Get it.
