All stock compensation is subject to fed and state income taxes. They dont withhold shares for taxes as part of the distribution? They just giving you a raw distribution and letting you pay the tax obligation as you please? That technically would be considered a loan by the company to an employee.
I was a stock plan administrator at my last gig as part of my Executive Compensation duties. IDK any company that would do it that way.
I have only taken a hit tax wise when I have sold a share....when they are distributed and sit in my brokerage account....nothing
The raw number I see on paper is usually Whats distributed....maybe they are playing with the raw number...
