Given enough time, programmers and engineers can pretty much make almost anyone's job obsolete. They're pushing all of this robotics stuff, but they haven't come up to a solution of what to do with all of the displaced workers... and no, universal income is not a solution. Most of these corporations are doing any and everything to avoid taxes and if all of these workers are out of jobs, they aren't paying taxes, so who is going to be funding this so called universal income? And universal income is essentially welfare on steroids. If you do something the government doesn't like, say bye bye to your only means of subsistance.
