How can Americans say UBI can't work if it has never been attempted?Given enough time, programmers and engineers can pretty much make almost anyone's job obsolete. They're pushing all of this robotics stuff, but they haven't come up to a solution of what to do with all of the displaced workers... and no, universal income is not a solution. Most of these corporations are doing any and everything to avoid taxes and if all of these workers are out of jobs, they aren't paying taxes, so who is going to be funding this so called universal income? And universal income is essentially welfare on steroids. If you do something the government doesn't like, say bye bye to your only means of subsistance.
Japan
In Japan, New Party Nippon and the Greens Japan support basic income, along with some economists such as Toru Yamamori[14] and Kaori Katada.[15]
Belgium
Historically in Belgium, the most active group promoting basic income is the movement Vivant and the philosopher Philippe Van Parijs, who founded the Basic Income European network (BIEN) in 1987. A Belgian basic income network affiliated to the BIEN was founded in 2012 in Brussels[24]
Finland
In 2014, the Centre Party as well as the Left Alliance and Green League, expressed support for basic income.[36]
In May 2015, the Sipilä Cabinet committed to carrying out a Basic Income experiment as part of a government programme.[37] In November 2015, Kela, the Finnish Social Insurance Institution launched a preliminary study to identify the model for implementing the experiment.[38][39]
Canada
Starting in 2014, the Liberal Party of Canada,[113] the Green Party of Canada,[114] the Pirate Party of Canada,[115] provincial party Québec Solidaire,[116] and conservative senator Hugh Segal[117] have been advocating for basic income in Canada. Mike Redmond, leader of the New Democratic Party of Prince Edward Island, has supported a basic income pilot project on Prince Edward Island.[118]
In 2017 the Liberal Government of Ontario announced that in 2017 they would launch a pilot project in the cities of Hamilton, Lindsay and Thunder Bay, selected residents will receive 17,000$ CDN.[119]
That AI shyt is no joke....they going hard out here in Seattle with it....

People complaining about outsourcing, but imagine all the call centers eradicated due to AI as well. This isn’t a case if computers doing a job better, this is an example of technology potentially ending an entire industry. Customer service is an entire industry. Did you not know that? What industry do you work in?

According to Wikipedia the following are a few countries stance on basic income
Basic income around the world - Wikipedia
I think I may have posted it earlier, but I don't believe UBI should be seen as a permanent solution, only temporary one that benefits those that gravely need it.Common sense and because we've already seen a more basic model of UBI in the form of welfare. If the government, which will be the source of the funds for UBI, is now utterly responsible for your subsistence, then how can you ever become a dissident to the government when all they have to do is cut off your universal income and you can't get a job because robots are doing everything?
However, there's a reason why there are labor unions and more people need to start joining these unions to push the government - to create more regulations for industries, on human quota. RFID isn't even a new technology (I did a module on it in my first year at Uni years ago) and the reason why it took time to take off is because people pushed back on it. They're just using it more now because people are embracing technology more than they did in the past and they're trying to get it into our everyday life through the backdoor.
Anyway, this is a summary of a review by MIT on how technology is destroying jobs: How Technology Is Destroying Jobs

You do know that universal basic income is a fantasy that will never be seen in America right? We can’t even get these crackers to give people healthcare. The wealth gap is widening not shrinking. Look at the tax bill that just passed. It’s basically corporate welfare.
I appreciate technology too, but you’d have to be blind to not see what’s potentially coming. It’s interesting to me because I can see it backfiring on corporate America if they revolutionize the work/job industry too quickly with all of this advanced technology. When you eliminate millions of jobs you’re also taking even more people out of the consumer market. You can have a self serving store all you want but if you don’t have enough people to go in and spend money buying shyt(that often isn’t a necessity) then what’s the point?
Our children will be fighting for the few legit jobs left.
