If your shyt is that dope, let the product speak for itself. I don't see anybody going "damn Amazon doesn't sell an Apple TV that's compatible with all of my other Apple products, let me see what this FireTV is hitting on"

This is really dumb.
This is the type of decision that snowballs and ruins a company. Not saying that will happen,obviously.
But anytime you take customers choice out of the equation to force your own produxt down their throat it never ends well. Somebody that wants a apple tv isnt going to buy a fire stick just because amazon doesnt sell it anymore,theyre just going to buy it from someone else.

Amazon isn't just an online retailer. They also manufacture products and offer services that are in direct competition with Apple TV and Chromecast. It was in that capacity I was making my comparison. Now do me a favor and stir this sauce right quick.
No this is like if a grocery store stopped selling coke and pepsi and only offered their own brand of cola.Amazon has had it's own products for a while now. They have a streaming service and a set top box. That's direct competition.
Don't know any malls that have their own brands.

Mmmm, more like Gap not selling Guess. Yes Amazon sells everything, but aside from that, they are also a legit player in the set top box/streaming game. You can't compare the Fire TV and Prime Instant Video to some off brand soda.

they stop selling Nest when they made a feature that allowed 3rd parties to develop devices similar to Nest

I don't think that's something Google would ever do, at least at this point in time. Facebook doesn't allow exporting contacts to Google, despite Facebook growing largely because of importing Google contacts, they still list Facebook profiles in their search results.
