I mean, they are deciding factors all across the South. I know this ultimately about white people but the coalition that outvoted MAGA in 2016 and 2020 was basically 40 percent of white people and then minorities. You’re not going to get 50 percent of white people voting against this because most of them are naturally Republican and can live with it if their taxes are low and they don’t have to hear about diversity.

This can be traced back to the failure of reconstruction, where the South instead of being razed and having it's power stripped was allowed to bide it's time, rebuild and finally install this Neo Confederate administration. Imagine a country where traitors are allowed to have symbols of their betrayal, and the President openly extolling the bravery of said traitors and their legacy of keeping ancestors of its citizenry in bondage.

That’s all true but that’s a long term project. The first thing you have to do is remove their power and you can’t do that while they’re running government. Like they can’t destroy affirmative action without the courts. They can’t roll back civil rights without the presidency and Congress.
