The change must've been minimum. As a little kid I would walk to the plaza, movie theater, and to a friend's house. I just had to be at home by the time the street lights came on. I remember being told to not talk to strangers and to yell if someone tries to grab me.

Same. And for me this was Brooklyn during the 80s

We were cautious, but still outside in different neighborhoods. It helped it was a little crew of us & OGs knew some of my fam
