unfortunately, the vast majority of peace loving democrats will hang off Obama's nuts regardless, and crucify the next republican to uphold the same policy.

American politics :mindblown:

the truth is, lets say Bush did what he was SUPPOSED TO DO after 911. would you have been upset about him getting his drone in the middle east and in the Stans(paki- and Afghani)?

i would say no. sure, no one wants innocent people to die. but this is war. if i blow up osama and you live next door. sorry buddy. what can i tell you? i tried to be as accurate as i could with a little baby plane. atleast i'm not dropping bombs from a stealth , knowing good and well it can only be so accurate.

if you are tired of innocent people dying from drone attacks. i would say , those citizens need to wage war against the AL q operatives. and let them know, YOu cant stay here. cause i'm not willing to die for a cause i dont believe in.

thats the equivalent of you allowing your cousin to live with you thats a known big time drug dealer, thats on the cops radar, that also shot 2 cops earlier. odds are if the cops think he's inside the same house you live in. both of yall will get shot up before they say FREEZE. that means you have to make a decision, kick your cousin out for good.

:russ: There is nothing to discuss...You run with the terrorist...you die..goodbye. :leostare:

Didn't you hear? Harry Truman killing more people in 3 days than we have in almost a decade, isn't the "same" because it was the "right thing to do at the time"" and "necessary" for that war to end?

Killing little Miyano Hirohito in 45 isn't the same as killing little Amna Muhammad and her brothers and sisters for 10 years in a row.

More deaths in one instant is better than gradually over a period of years.

Didn't you know that @ltheghost? Get with the Coli program

I believe that all able-bodied men )and women) who believe or advocate for war should fight that war. It's easy to foam at the mouth when they aren't the ones putting the life on the line. That's why I despise these Sean Hannity/dikk Cheney type of motherfukkers who purposely chose not to serve but are eager to send someone else.

I can't say I disagree with this, but it doesn't make it right.

It isn't foreign policy though. I could give a fukk less about Awlaki as a person. He probably deserved to die, but we need a system that allows citizens to explain their innocence in a court of law and he deserved some form of that. We can't give people blank checks to sign on people's lives without trial, even if it did happen in the past.

Can you imagine someone like Bachman, who advocated McCarthyism in charge of this drone program with the powers that this memo entails?

U think if that dude woulda called the media and turned himself in on tv, they still woulda killed him? We have a system to deal with em. Awlaki wanted it to be 1 way, but it was the otha way :youngsabo:

on an atheist website I frequent, a poster kcrady, makes these extremely well thought out and written arguments on a series of topics in religion. Not only are they concise and clear, theyre quite entertaining as well. Id venture to say that son has a book if one were to compile all his arguments.

He doesnt mind that people use his posts as long as he gets the credit so I shall c/p an example... Its a long, but good read. If youve suffered through "holy" books then this is a cup of tea.

Why oppose religion? - K. Crady

from: Justthinking

Question. Is it rational to oppose that which does not exist?

I was born into a family that sold Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oil is said to be a wonderful substance, and if you drink it, you will have peace and joy in your life, your life will have meaninng, you can know how to be a good person, and it will also make it so you can live forever.

So I grew up reading the company's Sales Manual. There, I leanred that if you join up and sell Yeshua's Amazing Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm, that you don't have to worry about your future, because Yeshua, the Compnay's CEO, will make sure you get taken care of. So, I spent the formative years of my life learnig all about Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm, the history of the Company as described in the Sales Manual, and about the wonderful future I had guaranteed, as an employee of the Company.

I tried to sell Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm as well as I could, and trusted in the life advice the CEO gave me, that I shouldn't plan for the future, since I had no control over the future anyway, but as an employee of the Company, I didn't need to anyway. And, I knew that if I stopped drinking Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm I would suddenly find myself alone, with no meaning or purpose to my life, and, having not planned for the future, I would be up **** creek. Furthermore, people who don't drink Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm will suffer terribly in the future.

Then, one day, I found out that Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm wasn't magical at all! It was just colored water with some flavorings and suspicious chemicals added! These chemicals would cause some people to become extremely violent. In fact, people had been burned at the stake, and horrible wars launched, by people under the influence of Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm

Not only had I wasted my life and energies up to that point, there were vast numbers of people who were still trapped in the Company's lies, wasting their lives trying to sell Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm.

And that wasn't all. You see, the company that makes Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm turned out to have an enormous amount of political influence, making legislation so that children in schools would have to say they liked Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm before class started, our money was printed with "In Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm We Trust," and our country even goes to war because the Yeshua, the CEO of the company that makes Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm is the President's favorite philosopher and chief advisor. Acting on Yeshua's advice, my country has declared war on a billion other people who drink another company's product, Mohammed's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm which turns out to be almost exactly the same stuff as Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm, but with different colorings added.

And so, I realized that Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm (as well as the other brands of Amazing Magical Snake Oil) was not merely some harmless fraud, it was a positive danger to the very survival of the human species and the biosphere of our planet. I started to oppose Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm and try to help other people stop selling it.

Then one day, a person who still sold Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm asked me, "but if Yeshua's Amazing Magical Snake Oiltm isn't really magical, why do you oppose it?"

here's the question.
At any point in time did you have any doubt, for even a second, that if the government wanted you to disappear anytime prior to 2000 that they couldn't make it happen? :comeon:

the difference is now they are a little more...codified... about it.

they don't have any new power, they are just choosing to write shyt about it now. Trust that 10 years ago you and your family could have been magically whisked away with not so much as a fukin bat of an eye if they REALLY WANTED.

You're right , but so? Are we supposed to just keep bending over and let em fukk us all even harder? I dont get your post:shaq2:

Whether or not, I'm smarter than you is up for debate as it would be with anyone on here because I don't HL is a barometer for anyone's intelligence, whether or not I'm more rational than you and have the proper temperament for politics is apparent, and you can feel free to disagree. You're my dude but you are up on this reactionary post like I'm in the TLR or Seum shyt up in here. Don't worry, I'm back on campus so my scarcity of posting on here is about to return, do you breh, you know it is, what it is with me :manny:

Not even, they got hired because MSNBC was accused of not being diverse enough. So they hire these bums instead of capable journalists of color. The only one that disgusts me is Harris-Perry, she's too smart for that bullshyt.

Exactly dudes need to chill with the MSNBC/Fox analogy. Unless MSNBC is reporting false information much MORe often, then it should not be referred to as the ____version of Fox in anyway and that goes for any network. The second a network is reporting facts, it should not be compared to Faux News in any way at all.

@VictorVonDoom

Now with that being said, yes there are people on the left who annoy the hell out of me. Like as you just stated MHP has become so frustrating not just because the only thing she has criticized Obama on in ages is his lack of pardons.....but how it seems that every one of her shows is becoming a remix/redub of the other one.

I mean every other show about "women's rights", abortion, and a racial discussion? I mean I understand someone like Soledad O Brian because on her regular news job she actually reports the news, and she saves discussions with a theme like her "Black In America" series when its her own time slot and a special series. MHP really needs to stop.

Her reaction when she interviewed Obama for Ebony Magazine last year? :snoop:

As always on HL and in general, people really overstate the whole "if a Republican was in office", the fact that this is being discussed EVERY SINGLE day in the media, whether on blogs, newspaper websites, tv, etc shows you that this is not being "ignored". I do not know on what planet do people think this is being "ignored" especially when well known sites like HuffingPost have had discussions and articles on it pretty much every couple of days.......

And before we get a "How do you know those people writing the articles are liberal.......the actual newspaper being liberal doesn't mean the person doing the article actually is" type of comment , yes many of the people criticizing the drone strikes are liberal so this really needs to stop.

I think the problem people have that they don't realize is that they do not hear the word "Obama" used together with drones so they jump on that and say he is being "excused".

As for drones, I really hope we get out of this whole "Drones are cheaper and efficient" mindset so that therefore is our reasoning for risking getting civilians. Are the sniper methods risky? Of course it is, but if you are in war, shouldn't you be enduring that risk? Especially if you will be sparing the life of a civilian? I mean saying its "okay" for what happens to civilians, because your "men are being saved".

We really sending out Hellfire missiles to kill terrorists because were afraid of what may happen if we instead choose to use our own men to be snipers because its risky to them?

:why:

Obama can be so annoying sometimes with the "aww shucks" mindset. Just say your doing them and end the discussion. Or better yet stop them all together. We really need all this for Zawahiri?..........

isn't that what you've/we've been doing? NOW though, this is the straw? :comeon: IT's wrong now, it's wrong then, it'll be wrong going into the future and yet it'll still be there. Call me cynical but we're a long, long way away from the revolution needed to fix shyt like this.

And even then it'll only be a matter of time before whatever comes of that revolution turns into what we have now. That's history, that's mankind, we've done this same song and dance generation after generation for thousands upon thousands of years.

I gotta disagree. Collateral damage happens no matter what method you use. There are stories of soldiers shooting unarmed kids as well. Putting soldiers on the ground is more costly in American money and lives, and the outcome would be the same, if not worse.

I guess that means you'll be there with me just more angry about it. Possibly in a "rock the vote" t-shirt.
:takedat:

:pachaha:

I dont live in the states so honestly i dont what that is:heh:

Im just saying this classical conditioning shyt they got us under will never get better and will only get worse. The majority of us are smart enough to see right thru yet still lack the means or motivation to stand the fukk up and be men about this shyt. And the defeatist attitude definitely wont help. I guess only God can save us and thats why theyre driving us away from religion all together using science as a substitute when it should go hand in hand:manny:
