My dad is like that. He sits on his high horse preaching about how other black folks need to get on his level, meanwhile the majority of wealth he's amassed was accumulated via his parents and aunts leaving him property and cash. And before that, giving him a place to stay RENT FREE for many years so he could save.

It sounds like those problems are self created. I don’t have ANY money problems at the moment, which is why I could care less about this thread. But when I did have extreme money problems, most of them were self generated

Cost of living and low wages kills savings for most people under 30. I'm under 30 and make 90k and my rent $1,400 a month to live in freakin' Newark NJ. If I had a child I'd be f*cked. Lower the rent so less fortunate people can actually save money.
