You're an idiot. Creoles are a subset demographic of black americans. And creoles have no relation to the Portuguese.

Portuguese creoles (Portuguese: crioulo) are creole languages which have Portuguese as their substantial lexifier. The most widely-spoken creoles influenced by Portuguese are Cape Verdean Creole, Guinea-Bissau Creole and Papiamento.

the term was never exclusive to black americans, it was used for any group that mixed with the french, spanish, and portuguese. it is first and foremost about the mixing of language and religion (catholicism). in the US, i believe the first creoles were even from alabama, specifically mobile, not even louisiana.

Im astounded as to why many assume they are the only ones of mixed heritage its quite bizarre.

The same rape and forceful 'economic' relations happened throughout the diaspora through slavery and colonialism...

I understand if school didn't educate on this topic however we are all big enough to use Internet resources now 👀

As an American, I can tell you that it is due to American Exceptionalism. Whites aren't the only ones who suffer from it but a lot of black folks too.

Imagine Twitter didn’t exist.

How would the whole world know how culturally underdeveloped and unintelligent so many Americans are.

Not knowing that Sean Paul is not Black and that he is 100% a real Jamaican is outright stupidity.

I've talked to more then 15 Americans since I've been up today. None of them ever mentioned Sean Paul in any context whatsoever. If I was to show them this topic, they'd all shrug their shoulders and continue on their task at hand.

Who are these Americans these people are referring to:jbhmm:
You think 15 people represent the average cultural insight of all Americans.

Boy, do I have news for you.

If the people making this claim are not Jamaican, then it is none of their damn business. Maybe if people stopped trying to interject themselves in group politics and issues that are not their place to comment on, we wouldn't have so much animosity happening in the diaspora.
Many Americans think non-Americans are sitting around waiting for their approval.

This just couldn’t be further from the truth.
