I guess if nationality is more important than ethnicity to you.

When most people think of Jamaica, they think of people of African ancestry, not mixed Chinese and Europeans who's history in Jamaica dates back a single generation.

But if Jamaicans are ok claiming basically anyone, who am I to say anything.
Someone already posted it but the country motto is Out of Many We Are One

The majority of the island is indeed very African but a non insignificant portion is also very ethnically diverse. He’s an unapologetically Jamaican person that no one has ever questioned his background. It’s normal to be mixed lol

He's not even mixed Jamaican, his mother is fully Asian but born in Jamaica, thats where he gets his Jamaican ancestry.

Thats like claiming you're Hawaiian because your 100 percent Japanese mother was an anchor baby.
So he and his mother were both born and raised in Jamaica and have Jamaican nationality. Please explain how they are not Jamaican.

Honestly, just blame the kids or chronically online people who didn't grow up during Sean Paul's peak.

During his peak, nobody.....and I repeat....nobody gave a damn about this stuff. In NYC, both West Indians and Black Americans partied to Sean Paul's music. His ancestry or looks didn't even come up in any conversations. And Sean Paul was accepted in hip hop and R&B circles, hence why Beyonce made that song with him.

This is just chronically online Twitter babble rage baiting for engagement.

Depends, Elephant Man, Beenie and Vybz definitely massive too.
none of them
Even if you kept it at Jamaican artists he’s not really high like that. His prime was late 90s. Vybez Kartel to answer your question. I could probably list like 20 more. Beenie Man for good measure
he didnt have bigger international hits then sean paul. Internationally its sean paul and shaggy. Not 20 :francis:

You must be talking about pop music in America, not international. So like I said only ppl with a myopic American lens could call Sean Paul, big up Sean Paul bc he got classics, the biggest Jamaican artist

The kirk to the fields
I've talked to more then 15 Americans since I've been up today. None of them ever mentioned Sean Paul in any context whatsoever. If I was to show them this topic, they'd all shrug their shoulders and continue on their task at hand.

Who are these Americans these people are referring to:jbhmm:
Matter of fact, NO ONE is talking about this bullshyt outside of Twitter.
