Saw the first tweet earlier and I was confused by Sean Paul being Chinese Jewish. Had to look it up and confirm.

His mom is Chinese and English and his pops is African and Portuguese, and then theres some 21 and me sephardic stuff going on from his dads side

Shes right about the confusing part cause I knew Sean Paul for like 3 years and we thought he was a Chaldean from Jamaica. Also seen in a print article that said he was part Southeast Asian.

The fact that there are some people that still don’t know the differences between race, ethnicity and nationality in 2025 is sad. It shows that these internet echo chambers are working their magic.

As a Jamaican, I’ve never heard anyone question Sean Paul’s authenticity or whether he’s “actually Jamaican” or not. This talking point has come solely from twitter, from people that don’t have any real connection to Jamaica other than being somewhat familiar with the music that has managed to crossover.

It’s crazy how people have access to so much information now to learn about the differences of other cultures with the click of a button but still choose to be wrong and strong.
