I'm sure I've told this story before, but When I was in tech, I remember one of the INTERNS found something on the line that was costing the company MILLIONS. They had all these PHDs, and it was some random guy that noticed something wrong.
So when the internship came to an end, they was offering him the same money as the rest. He wanted a 2k bump compared to the next man, but nah.
Tech especially, but work in general - they never even attempt to pay you for the value that you create.
