And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Verily I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Day of Judgment than for that city.

in a world where things shift and change, what would unchanging truth look like :jbhmm:

Genesis 1:1-2

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Nikkas tryna make not believing a book full of stupid bullshyt a race issue :laff:
Black theology is the most prominent religious experience of African-Americans, its not totally off-base.

No you are ignoring christian history because you dont like roman history for some reason. Hell unless you are orthodox the type of Christianity you practice is a decedent Catholicism. And you have Martin Luther to thank for that who was a catholic.
Again, I think you're mixing up the "Holy Roman Empire" that is now Western Europe, with the "Roman Empire" which is like, Italy and Turkey.
And yeah, Luther and Calvin are the fathers of modern Protestantism, but the Eastern Orthodox Churches and the North and East African churches are about as old as Catholicism.
But you do believe in Hell, correct? That came from the Romans. Jews had no belief in eternal punishment prior to Christianity. While in Rome, they became influenced by Hellenistic beliefs.

The concept of the devil also has no basis in Judaism. Christians were influenced by other religions like Zorostrianism and consolidated the snake in the garden, the Satan in the book of Job, and the Lucifer in Isaiah.

The entire basis of Christianity doesn't even line up with what was established in Judaism. Jews and Christians see original sin completely differently. Christians believe adam and eve's sin made all of humanity totally depraved and deserving of eternal punishment. None of that exists under Judaism. They were the first to sin yeah, but that didn't curse mankind to eternal punishment. Everyones responsible for their own actions. Judaism is more optimistic because people can redeem themselves through hard work, but Christianity is just completely pessimistic :picard:

And it doesn't even guarantee jesus will save you if you do accept him

God ultimately can do whatever he feels like

I'm speaking from the POV of the Bible's universe of course. To reiterate, I dont actually believe in this stuff
Well, there was a concept of Hell for Jews - the sheol was what it was referred to in the Torah and the Old Testament, the Gehenna/Gahanna was the burning place outside of Jerusalem that was treated as a metaphor, and the place of the Fallen Angels was referenced in the Book of Enoch - but it differs sharply from our later interpretations.

Augustine and several other religious leaders combined all three concepts into a kind of hodge-podge punishment place, it wasn't Hellenistic.

so when a scientist does an experiment in 1000 AD in Greece, and another one does the experiment in 2021 USA...

Do they get different results?

Not if its good science. The results are the same

I'm sure that Galileo, Newton, and Tyson would agree.
