I like a lot of the letter, although I strongly disagree with the notion that "all politics are identity politics," and I do not believe that an intersectional politics is the same as identity politics (for example, Angela Davis has intersectional politics, whereas someone like Donna Brazile plays identity politics).

If your social analysis isn't primarily a materialist one, I really can't see how you're a leftist. What does a non redistributionist plan for combatting racism or sexism even look like?

For a lot of these people signing this tho, politics is just a scene. A lot of journalists and personalities and bloggers and dem apparatchiks on there, not nearly so many actual organizers and activists.

It is disproportionately aimed at and disproportionately harmful for those of us living with intersectional oppressions: Trans and non-binary people, disabled women, women of color, poor women, queer women, for whom the lack of safety and support in progressive spaces is potentially disastrous, given that they already live in a world where there is precious little support for their survival. .

do yall really talk like this? I would come to the meetings just to hear this BS..it would be hard to keep the laughter in tho.

I think the media has cleverly transitioned being a leftist and political activism into policing people into using the correct terminology... In adition to policing peoples opinions kf benign pop culture issues. Politics and activism is now mostly about Bruce Jenner issues, BLM as an information tool, and combating mysoginy.
