I dont think anyones debating that, but 3k hasnt been on a RAP cd in 25 YEARS that mattersWhy don’t people hold Big Boi’s solo work in high regard but anytime Outkast does something it’s major news?![]()

you're not wrong but that gap has closed as we saw Big make good muisc post kast and andree not make any music at all outside of guest featsThem being equals is an argument that has only come up since Andre stopped rapping and Big Boi kept going. They were not seen as equals while the group was active.
If I make 200 songs with you and I have the more memorable verse on 195 of them, we ain’t equals breh. It don’t matter what you do after I stop, I’m ahead of you.
It’s not even about technical ability, we all know Big Boi is a great rapper in that regard. It’s the content of the lyrics. Andre was always ahead of the curve there. Not just ahead of Big Boi, but the majority of the industry.
the excuses yall have "oh hes done with rapping oh hes this hes that", this isnt some tour its an honor of him and his partner....this chit is so wack. as a massive outkast stan its uncomfortably awful ...
Thank God I got doja cat and JID rapping for him while he stands there![]()
This the dumbest shyt in this thread. It doesn’t matter how many solo albums you release. What matters is the quality of the music that you do release, no matter if it’s solo or group.
Big Boi can release 100 more albums, it has no bearing on the quality of music that Andre put on multiple albums with him.
yeah I dont think thats a fair assessment at all. while what you're saying has some truth the other side exists too...big bois albums were all good, I would say the first one being great....all outkast albums are half and half so in reality you cant give 3000 props for something that doesnt exist and thats a solo rap album of his...weve seen big can create a sound without andree...in reality outside of rnb love below we have not see that with 3 stacks

The OutKast albums were half and half in the sense that there were only 2 members. They weren’t half and half based on what was recorded.

It’s the content of the lyrics.

2-3 tracks? those were really good albumsBig Boi’s albums were “good”, decent enough with each having maybe 2-3 tracks you would revisit (though that first one was bumpin for me). But that’s like everyone else’s drops too. They aren’t something I would recommend anyone listen to unless they are already a fan. I’d recommend people listen to Outkast albums no matter what.
The OutKast albums were half and half in the sense that there were only 2 members. They weren’t half and half based on what was recorded. Like Goodie Mob was not evenly split between the 4. When people quote Outkast verses the overwhelming majority of the time it’s an Andre verse. When listening to the songs of you thought of who had the better/more memorable verse it’s Andre. On songs where Outkast is featured on someone else’s joint, Andre usually has the best verse out of everyone.
I’ve asked friends to name an Outkast song where Big Boi had the better verse, and I kid you not, they quote verses where Andre is not even on the track.
In the end the difficulty with ranking Big Boi higher than Andre in a hip hop totality discussion is that the songs that people would use to push Big Boi have someone else on them who is noticeably better (Andre).
