Andre 3000 not performing with Big Boi during their Hall of fame was disrespectful to HipHop, he secretly looks down on rap

Why don’t people hold Big Boi’s solo work in high regard but anytime Outkast does something it’s major news?:jbhmm:
I dont think anyones debating that, but 3k hasnt been on a RAP cd in 25 YEARS that matters

Them being equals is an argument that has only come up since Andre stopped rapping and Big Boi kept going. They were not seen as equals while the group was active.

If I make 200 songs with you and I have the more memorable verse on 195 of them, we ain’t equals breh. It don’t matter what you do after I stop, I’m ahead of you.

It’s not even about technical ability, we all know Big Boi is a great rapper in that regard. It’s the content of the lyrics. Andre was always ahead of the curve there. Not just ahead of Big Boi, but the majority of the industry.
you're not wrong but that gap has closed as we saw Big make good muisc post kast and andree not make any music at all outside of guest feats

the excuses yall have "oh hes done with rapping oh hes this hes that", this isnt some tour its an honor of him and his partner....this chit is so wack. as a massive outkast stan its uncomfortably awful ...

Thank God I got doja cat and JID rapping for him while he stands there :camby:

Doja Cat was awful

I noticed that when she came back out for the finale with everyone, she didn’t even have a mic anymore after fumbling her part.

This the dumbest shyt in this thread. It doesn’t matter how many solo albums you release. What matters is the quality of the music that you do release, no matter if it’s solo or group.

Big Boi can release 100 more albums, it has no bearing on the quality of music that Andre put on multiple albums with him.

yeah I dont think thats a fair assessment at all. while what you're saying has some truth the other side exists too...big bois albums were all good, I would say the first one being great....all outkast albums are half and half so in reality you cant give 3000 props for something that doesnt exist and thats a solo rap album of his...weve seen big can create a sound without andree...in reality outside of rnb love below we have not see that with 3 stacks

Big Boi’s albums were “good”, decent enough with each having maybe 2-3 tracks you would revisit (though that first one was bumpin for me). But that’s like everyone else’s drops too. They aren’t something I would recommend anyone listen to unless they are already a fan. I’d recommend people listen to Outkast albums no matter what.

The OutKast albums were half and half in the sense that there were only 2 members. They weren’t half and half based on what was recorded. Like Goodie Mob was not evenly split between the 4. When people quote Outkast verses the overwhelming majority of the time it’s an Andre verse. When listening to the songs of you thought of who had the better/more memorable verse it’s Andre. On songs where Outkast is featured on someone else’s joint, Andre usually has the best verse out of everyone.

I’ve asked friends to name an Outkast song where Big Boi had the better verse, and I kid you not, they quote verses where Andre is not even on the track. :pachaha:

In the end the difficulty with ranking Big Boi higher than Andre in a hip hop totality discussion is that the songs that people would use to push Big Boi have someone else on them who is noticeably better (Andre).

Dude had said over and over he's got bad stagefright when it comes to performing rap

Yall don't listen when the answer is easily available. If big boi and the rest of DF ain't out here making a fuss then why are yall? They understand breh struggle and respect his wishes

He's able to perform the flute cause that's what he feels comfortable doing. Mental health ain't logical, but anxiety is real. You see how everybody dumped on doja cat for forgetting the words. In his mind, he's anticipating the worst from the internet if he makes a mistake. Especially at the rock n roll hall of fame of all places

Yall ain't in that man shoes, so quit tryna tell him why he walking with a limp :unimpressed:

This message board is turning to a support group for dudes to express feelings they don’t understand within themselves

Cap :pachaha:

If you say Andre had the most memorable verses nearly 100% of the time, you are a cac, casual or a dummy

It’s the content of the lyrics.

Let me guess let me guess:

Big Boi only be rapping about 'lacs and rims and dope boy shyt. Andre was on some deeper shyt

Like I said, cac shyt

I do, so do the ratings

My post was addressing a valid question

Casuals will answer with the tired talking point that no one rates Big Boi because he isn't spoken about outside of OutKast, which is false, given this conversation

Anyways, I'm not tripping about Andre not performing.

He only owes that to Big Boi and if Big Boi is cool with it then who am I to disagree?

I just disagree with him anytime he says he has nothing to say. His peers have proven him wrong on that 100%.

That brother don’t owe us nothing

That's understood, but what do he owe his supposed partner and comrade for life, Big Boi?
I mean even if he HAD to do the shyts, just ONE MORE TIME, for something as big as the award show, that if I'm not mistaken, he showed up for,
(I ain't watch the shyts, I'm just reading this thread)
then what's the problem with rocking the mic with his Day 1 if not just for that shyt, especially if they don't have no apparent problems with each other?
