At the end of the day the dude had to hoop at Davidson. There is nothing easy about the transition of playing ball at a school like Davidson and becoming a superstar. He did that on his own with his work ethic. Hell, Michael Jordan's sons were far more well-off than steph and look how they turned out. Same can be said for countless former players. Secondly, he didn't "luck" into a great team. Those teams were great because of him largely.

And he spent 3 years at Davidson

One thing I've learned in life is that people find the time and money to get the things they feel they can't live without. It's the reason why a lot of poor people can find the money to get high or drunk everyday yet they can't put that $10 a day towards their kids college fund.
