I'm honestly not surprised by it, plus he has said that it is because his body can't take it anymore. When it gets to that point I don't blame anyone from walking away.

Nonetheless, people will still find a way of accusing him of ducking someone, even though he has beaten every viable opponent.

and thats all that matters when comparing the two in the ring.

definitely.

the Dawson destruction was a big win for him as well.
Nah breh. You're not that simple.

The versions of the fighters you fight matters. You're not going to tell me Arturo Gatti (Hall of Famer) or the version of Shane Mosley (HOF) was better than the Chad Dawson or Carl Froch versions that Ward fought.

I will tell you that Zab Judah was better than Chad Dawson.

Also, this Mosely thing is comical. Mosely went into the fight with Floyd as the 3rd ranked boxer in the p4p rankings. Just because Floyd deaded that, don't mean that imma forget that.

Baldomir was the linear WW champion when Floyd beat him.

Diego Corrales, Marquez, Hatton, Castillo

Floyd's resume is better than those cats. It just is.

Damn, if its true, he has been a great representative for the game.
He looks like he takes care of his money, and I'm happy for him and wish him the best moving forward.

HOF fighter. Dominated some top fighters convincingly in their primes.

Highlight for me was the Froch fight or Chad Dawson one.

The only L he took in his career was Kovalev 1

I don't want to turn this into a Floyd thread, but this is pretty spot on. Mosley was riding high after not beating, but destroying Margarito, and was ranked 3rd P4P. People forget Floyd beat the linear WW champion with no corner man too. Ward running thru the Super 6 was amazing and the layoff afterwards makes it hard for people to remember it. He was a beast that lost a lot of time in his career sitting on the sideline. I wish we could've seen more of him. Great champ....will be missed.

Definitely

I think the layoff and tv issues hurt award for a while. He got back after the Koralov Kovalev fights so he retiring on a huge high. Higher than any boxer I can think of since I been following the sport.

He gonna be missed but he can have a huge second career as an analyst. Especially since espn, fox, and NBC are all investing in boxing again.

:salute:To him. Going out healthy and with a nice resume.

I remember seeing him in the Super 6 the year i graduated high school.

Really wanted to see him vs Stevenson, but props to him going out on top.
