Actually that was an example of taking hits over time leading to injury. There is no particular play we can point to that caused that injury.

Running is the issue...being reckless while running is an issue. He must be smarter about taking hits. Standing in the pocket is not going to prevent him from getting hurt. Plenty of qbs get hurt in the pocket too.

Here's what doesn't happen in the pocket though

Brady nor Manning would have taken that hit. They would have thrown it away or slid much earlier. I'll take poor decision making that leads to a few more picks, over poor decision making that leads to a blown out knee. Doesn't matter how good your TD/INT ratio is if you don't have the inteliigence to not put yourself in positions to get hurt. That's something robert needs to work on, and his reckless abandon in fighting his coach all offseason and trying to get back on the field too soon shows he hasnt really improved in this area. Guess we'll see in a few days

Brady and Manning have both been out for a season because of injury
until RGIII misses a season can't use that argument

Just make sure you tell the other side of what can also happen in the pocket. It's football breh

If a QB gets his knee blown out, because he got hit in the middle of his throwing motion in the pocket, thats one thing.

If a QB fukks up his knee running around trying to be Barry Sanders when you should have slid 10 seconds earlier, thats a completely different thing.

Yes anyone can get injured on any play in the NFL. Some are unavoidable and "freak" accidents. Others are not and could have been easily avoided. If you don't get that part there's nothing more I can say here to change your mind.

:heh: at you going from denying the impact of that hit all the way to the other end of the spectrum for the purposes of your argument.

I acknowledged that he needs to be less reckless. That's still not gonna guarantee he doesn't get hurt. Afterall this did happen in the pocket:

You gotta be smart but you gotta be lucky too. If, God forbid, Luck takes a hit on knee next year and goes down you gonna question his toughness? You get hit on the knee, you are gonna get hurt no matter how tough you are.

On the play in question he was running away from defenders an really had no other option then to try to go down like he did. Ol boy just happened to catch him on the leg. I am not gonna fault him for THAT play. Now taking hits when you could slide or run out of bounds is another story.

ATL…overly
Hey threw 230 more passes. He threw 3 more TDs. He threw 13 more picks, had a much lower comp %, had an inferior TD%, higher int%, and lower ypc. Cats keep talking about all he was asked to do and hiding behind attempts. That is only relevant if the shyt is close. By any fair measure RGIII blew his numbers out with of the water. Its up to Luck to demonstrate that he can handle the greater workload AND put up at least comparable numbers. I am not hating on him or denying his potential either I am just saying he has gotta show it. 54% and a near 1:1 td:int ratio in this pass happy league doesn't show it and there is no amount of pass attempts or progressions that can explainthat away. Until he does show it I will take the incarnation of Mike Vick from Madden 04.

That's fine. I wasn't trying to convince you to take RG3 over Luck. I was giving you my reasons for taking Luck and backed it up with 2 scouts/writers from MMQB.

Luck is further along in his development as a QB at this point in their careers who had more yards passing & TDs, RG3 had a better rating & was more accurate with fewer INTs in an offense that didnt ask for him to take many risks. You somehow find it impossible to see that Luck could be further along in his development than RG3 while making more mistakes so there's no need to keep this going.

We won't agree so let's just agree to disagree. You want RG3, I'll take Luck. End of discussion

Like I said, you're a Redskins fan incapable of having an unbiased discussion on RG3. I get it. The excuse making & outright denial in your post is staggering though. RG3 is an attention whore and even if you believe the media has created every RG3 story, how many media created stories has Luck been involved with? I see you didn't even attempt to discuss the single read, play action dominated Skins offense RG3 plays in or will you deny that he plays in that offense too?

AFC South >> NFC East. Only gimmie in the AFC South is Jacksonville, last yr in the NFC East Philly was basically a gimmie, the Cowboys always disappoint and the Giants, who were mediocre last yr.

GTFOH, the AFC never has and never will be better than the NFC East. And Titans werent a "gimmie". Every NFC East team is lightyears better than J'ville and Tennessee, that's 4 "gimmie" games right there for the Colts

Don't find it impossible just saying that the numbers don't bear it out. Like I said before, if he shows it I will acknowledge it. But yeah we can agree to disagree.
