Joe said it best on his last podcast. If he was so bad at business he wouldnt be a multi millionaire and in the position he is in today.

He is just fighting for ownership, control and things that go beyond money.
If he wants ownership he should stop running to big corps n be indie.

U can be bad at business and still be a millionaire, maybe if he was better the people to his left n right would also be multi millionaires

people dont know the situation and are grasping at shyt they like

Andrew got sonned here pretty viciously

he resorted to saying he's independent and makes a percentage off of what the ADs sell that he promotes
Which is basically every comedian podcast on the market

That's a terrible point to prove, especially since comedians are mostly doing podcasts because they are broke and out of work :yeshrug:

then if you are independent, there shouldnt even be a discussion about a dude trying to sign his worth at a company. Those are two extremely opposite things. All Andrew said here was he's independent and fighting for his life ... which is what Joe did almost a decade ago to even be at the level he's at now. Like a true idiot, this dude basically copped pleas about just doing it dolo and taking what he can get. Joe's entire point is, if we do these numbers, we deserve this amount of revenue AND JBP still under my control and ownership. Which isnt a dumb idea for either company since he's literally bringing them subscriptions and billions of views. I'd let you own your shyt and eat all day if you were on my platform making me free money.

It's lowkey just bad business from more white companies, making the creators look like the villains ... which makes no sense. Jayz is wrong as a bytch for creating TIDAL for this exact reason and not helping. That's fukking foul ass shyt that you can promo Kanye's lingerie collection and shyt but wont sign a podcast and give them the rate in which they live up to numerically. Maybe work out a publishing deal where you take a very small percent from older content that expires. But companies trying to hold on to shyt they didnt create, while collecting free money both ways is fukking nuts. I dont see how people agree with that being an okay thing.

This is why he probably gets finessed into signing all these awful deals, this kind of logic. He could be even worse at business than he is and he'd still be a multi-millionaire (anything over 2 million) and in a good position because of the PRODUCT...the podcast has been hot for madd years now. Your podcast is hot so it's gonna turn a profit regardless. How about if he wasn't so bad at business he could be worth double or triple, or quadruple, what he is now. He probably didn't even think of that before he said this, smh.

I do feel him on the advertising shyt tho, if he's gonna advertise a product, that money shouldn't go to Complex/Spotify and then they give him some crumbs off of it, if anything at all, and just pay him a salary. They have other ways to suck him dry financially so they can at least do like a 40/60 split or sumn with the big ads. He seems to be standing firm on that, I don't blame him.

Where did you get billions of views from? Joe Budden is number 5 in the USA Spotify podcast chart and is only on this platform alongside Youtube where it averages 300k to 450k per episode, and clips average 70k. As I said he is doing Call Her Daddy numbers on only one platform and that podcast is on every platform so gets an even bigger audience. Call Her Daddy host is on a basic salary of $500k + bonus. He obviously brought an audience to Spotify when he launched but sadly he was just a guinea pig, I do not see the billions of views people are talking about? Going independent or run with a partner and cut a deal. It is not that complicated lol. Why is it only Joe who makes this complicated?
