I mean at some points he's right that Dems need to improve on selling leftist policies that improve the working class. But he's obviously also saying that Dems should focus less on racial issues as well like BLM and whatever to appease scared whites who might be turned off by cultural inclusion issues. It's not like he's the only with this point however, because that working class platform was the same thing that Bernie focused instead of racial issues and a lot of minorities still loved him. We'll see where the party goes because I don't have an easy answer.
Depending on HOW you’re addressing the working class, you’re largely benefiting the black population as well. That’s why they still love him.

flordia voted for a 15 dollar/hr minimum wage... and also said fukk the democrats at the same time

the problem with the dems is that they're told time and again EXPLICITLY what their core voters and repub-opposition want - and they instead opt for some middle ground bullshyt that satisfies no one. you can apply the racial disingenuousness to damn near all of their platforms. women's rights, healthcare, worker protections, immigration, foreign policy, climate, etc. they know what their core voters want.

instead, they invite jon kasich to the convention and lose ohio anyways :mjlol:

that 15 dollar wage isn’t even instant either, they gave florida that for votes and it won’t even reach 15 dollars until 2026, which doesn’t help the poor communities. It is cheaper to live in florida... that is true. But i noticed when i lived there that grocery stories are more expensive. And they don’t have as many save a lots, price rite, aldis, shop right etc which people on lower income shop at. and it being cheaper to live there doesn’t apply to the coast and to people who can’t afford to own a home and buy land. and going by the racial wealth stats.. in other words..it doesn’t help black people down there struggling at all.

that state is so fukking corrupt beyond measure from taking advantage to illegal immigrants, which are the driving force behind a lot of construction, which makes it anti-union, which all of this affects black men down there the most because union jobs and construction pay so good and they get overlooked. then taking into account the Haitian population... i noticed when i’ve lived and traveled there that A LOT of hospitality workers are haitian, from hotel staff to fast food etc. this doesn’t help them at all.

so that extra 1 dollar a year for the next 6 years isn’t gonna put a dent in shyt.

The Democrats have a long term problem on their hands with no easy solution. If they don't watch it and switch up things, they are going to lose even worse in 2022 and even they know that. They had all the momentum. They gotta realize that throwing money at a candidate and all the Twitter followers and social media movements don't necessarily declare victory. Nothing matters until people step into the polls and vote. I remember reading a few days before the election that they were just so sure that they were going to keep the house and gain seats from it. Instead they actually lost some. Now they are stuck in house fighting and arguing with each other trying to figure out what went wrong and no one has the answers why.

Unfortunately for them, Nancy and largely Schumer still represent the old guard and status quo. The same reasoning for wanting to remove her years back is the same reason why they should vote her out now. She played her cards wrong in thinking that they would have control of the House, Senate and presidency and didn't have to deal with Mitch anymore. Now that's not the case, so in the end she will still more than likely have to go down on her $ 2 billion dollar asking price as she will need Mitch and friends to help get it passed.

She's 80 years old and is not the right person to lead the party into the future. They actually need to have the courage to vote her out instead of chickening out and keep status quo as they did years ago when the chance to get her out.

They have to stop trying to be everything to everybody. They also have to get boots back on the ground in these communities. The gay people they pandered too for so long voted for Trump. The numbers are show that.

Stop pouring resources and media attention to cause that only affect a small amount of the population. If you turn 80% of black men to 90%, it’s a game changer. It’s time for a new way of thinking especially on the legislative level.

I still think the Republicans are going to be in a lot of trouble going forward. Those poor, white trash whites were not voting for basically 12 years. Trump gave them “politics” they can understand and gave them a superhero. There’s no one else like that in the party.

This Twitter exchange sums it up. The problem isn’t liberal elitism, the problem is a good chunk of the white working class is racist AF, so racist in fact that more often than not they’ll vote against their own economic self interest if they find a candidate who appeals to their bigotry (ie. Trump)

Yang’s problem is he tries so hard to be the cool Democrat for the anti-SJW Ben Shapiro crowd that he conveniently ignores the racism.

What I don’t get is that these types of critiques never tell you explicitly what we all know you’re saying: “leave the lgbt and black shyt alone and focus on white Christians who are openly bigots”

But they never want to just say this.

Exactly. If Yang just said "The Dems need to appeal more to ignorant working class white people" I would've respected it more.
