Andy Dalton has joined Peyton Manning and Dan Marino becoming the only three quarterbacks to pass for 20 plus touchdowns in each of their first two seasons. Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, Drew Brees, and Big Ben can’t even say they have done that.

:manny:

I do think he's holding us back though

:bryan:
Context. Aaron Rodgers sat for 3 years behind Favre. Brady didn't play year 1 due to Bledsoe, Manning sat behind Kurt Warner most of his rookie year, Brees was in an out of the lineup in SD they also had Flutie too.

Big Ben out of all those guys played the most and he only passed 15 times a game.

Yeah, I realized that. It was a copy and paste and I just didn't edit it.

This site man....if a QB ain't throwing for 400 yards and 3 TDs he's "trash"......

He's a middle of the pack QB. Someone has to be, that's how it works.

Oh, and Green just dropped a TD :russ:
He's not that good. Dude makes hose "bail out" off his backfoot throws when he's under the slightest pressure.

Hes very average

Gio's got a bit of LT in him...

The Bengals are loaded. Dalton is just streaky and Marvin's a dumbass.

Dalton ain't trash, but I won't sit here and say he's a world beater. Best-case scenario, he's a poor man's Joe Montana.

He will never be as clutch. He may never be as accurate. He will never be the beast Joe Cool was. But the weapons are around him, and the defense is there. His job is to not mess it up. The NFL is a league where offenses are tailored to maximize a quarterback's strengths (see: RG3, Kaep, Wilson). To me, Dalton is a prototypical West Coast QB. He should thrive in that system, so long as he plays within it.

So have the dude play within the game plan. Not saying he's a straight up game manager or anything as he can make a lot of throws. But when Cincy stopped all that going deep mess against Pittsburgh, whose corners were lined up 10 yards off the ball so there would be no deep ball, and took what the Steelers gave them, they clicked. Dalton showed last week against the Bears that he and his arm are good enough to go deep.

I feel like he forced a lot of stuff last night, look at all the passes that sailed high as fukk.

They really don't, I can admit that. But when I think West Coast QB, I think Montana and that's it.

Dalton is far from garbage. Compare his first 2 years to most of y'all's favorite quarterbacks. Now realize that his only major weapon for those 2 years were AJ and an equally streaky off/on Jermaine Gresham. Like dude said tho, he's streaky. When he's on, though, you can see it. I think he can take us far IF Gruden doesn't forget to call some fukking runs. Andy isn't the type of QB that will sling his way through a game. A balanced attack is needed
