To me that was going to be her swing skill. Can she at least bring the ball up and call her own number like a Giannis and set up her teammates off that.
The Mystics taking Aaliyah Edwards over Angel Reese pissed people off locally due to the easy attention Ted Leonsis could garner for ticket sales and ratings.
But from a basketball fit, Edwards has much better offensive bag while Angel is a legendary rebounder already. The way Edwards played Collier in that one on one earlier this year showed me something too. @Gil Scott-Heroin @K-Apps

She’s legit getting her shot blocked in the post. Like no fakes or anything. It’s pure physicality, but it doesn’t even seem like she got stronger?
It’s really no comparison between the two from a basketball perspective, she’s not in CC’s stratosphere.Couldn’t be a worse player to pick as Caitlyn Clark’s rival. It’s just punching downward nearly every time.
CC is just someone who can manipulate and control the game on a high level. She’s an orchestrator. She understands how to actually play basketball and has elite advanced skills.
Reese is a scrappy player with no legit offensive fundamentals. She’s not even really boxing out to help her own team get rebounds (yes, that’s legit a thing). Defensively she not even an anchor, more like a 1v1 scrappy defender.
It’s like comparing a QB or Safety to a Full Back or Slot Corner.
Basketball skillset....she can't pass, dribble, shoot
Basketball IQ...great opportunity to pass for an open 3-point shot
It’s amazing she’s gotten this far being that trash at layups.
I am not denying that but she wouldnt be the first basketball player who begrudgingly had to get better. Just a little floater and layup and she will have a longer career.
Then again the WNBA doesn’t pay players enough to incentivize improvement so maybe she becomes a “influencer”.
I see your point but what for she literally didn’t even look for pass lmaoI'm not even gonna cap it, none of her teammates attempting to move around the court besides Cardoso after the 4th brick is just as bad.
You literally see 2 players within 2 feet of each other at the top of the arc, but BOTH corners are empty!
You literally only see 2 of her teammates in the frame up until the last couple of seconds.
Her offensive game is legit horrible, but what the fúck kind of team ball is that?
