Ive been listening to these clips over the last week. Seems like D'Angelo lacked drive.

I was kinda shocked to hear she was the driving force behind his first album. I was also shocked she wrote Sugar Hill Gangs records..

Its funny she said he was an overweight dude but by the time we saw him, he was transformed and cut up.

Snoop told a story on Questlove Supreme about D'Angelo not showing up and following through with laying down his vocals for Imagine. Angie Stone was the link to get D for that verse. Poo Bear's vocals were layered on Imagine because D'Angelo didn't record like they needed him to

Sounds more like people were tryna force him to be something he wasn't and they were cool with him being depressed as long as they could benefit. From being a sex symbol to putting together projects. Angie just got to him first and hoped he'd be so attached to her early that she'd have him locked up, that's no different that a film exec dating a super attractive 21 year old and then makes her a movie star a few years later after he put a baby in her and she wasn't even thinking about being an actress to begin with.

Just because money was made doesn't mean it was right to do to someone, that's the problem with this country's culture now. She's a predator for that.



3stacks simply outgrew rapping for profit, he just likes art in general and rap was his springboard/bread and butter, doing other shyt excites him more, when you have a nomadic personality it shows itself in every aspect of life.

Idk if you personally have experience dabbling in multiple things in your career but people %1000 treat you differently when they were introduced to you one way and a few years later they see you doing something else idk why it's like this but even reasonable people will hate on you or feel disrespected that you aren't doing what they think you should and make up their own reasons for why you're moving that way. People are uncomfortable if they feel like they can't figure you out even if you're not a threat to them
