Stop being obtuse. Blocking cell phone signals is a no go. The rest of your response is word salad. Either kids put their phones in blocking sleeves or cell phone detectors in the entrances.

I’m obtuse because your ideas are weak and basic af? Ok 👍🏽

Ban phones on school campus. When we was growing up you had to go to the office to use the phone. You bring a phone to school year round suspension should be a nationwide law.

Good look. I don't doubt it started over a cellphone but the teacher wouldn't say on tv she talked shyt about a student's mom.

Since the girl in a video is screaming "don't talk about my momma" and not "don't touch my phone/give my phone back", it seems clear to me that what prompted the beatdown probably was the teacher's shyt talking :manny:

Teacher been doing her job for 20+ years and we've had a string of situations where teens spazzed out over a cell phone.

There's already been a trial for this, if the teacher had a history of saying out of pocket shyt it would've been mentioned at some point. It wasn't.

Based on that alone ,I'm gonna assume the teen was in the wrong. :yeshrug:

With all these videos coming out rn everybody should realize this is NOT the way.... anyone that has a child knows what the hell happens when you take their phone...this ain't 1997 anymore.... people got their whole life on a phone including teenagers...not defending the teacher abusing at all but cognizant of the reaction it sparks in kids these days....just do something different

You can’t just ban phones in the age of nikkas shooting shyt up left and right
There is a better way of handling this
But these school districts and superintendents aren’t as bright as they claim to be

I don't think teachers should be taking phones.

Most schools point blank say, in their Code Of Conduct, that staff can confiscate a student's phone if they are being disruptive.

You agree to that the moment your child steps foot in the door.

The only way around that is to homeschool your child.

Or the schools can amend the policy.

I wish my son would get outta line with a teacher. My foot, Yo azz!! That's a reflection on me.

We are so far removed from adults being parents and allowing the school teachers and administrators to do their jobs. Now this teenager is about to do 1 year in jail because her parents failed her.

I wouldn't dare wanna be a teacher. You can't do anything about unruly kids and the pay is azz.

it's gotta be a better way to handle the phone in class issue. somebody should make an app where the data/texts goes out of service during classtime or somehow make the classes a bad service area
it wouldn’t be a bad idea to solve it, but unfortunately phone jamming is against federal law

i've already addressed this in the thread. laws change everyday. there's literally parents paying millions of dollars to try to influence courts/lawmakers to change education related issues like teaching about minorities issues, diversity enrollment considerations in higher education, etc.... and you all in here are like "no we could never block a cell phone signal for high schoolers, impossible! just suspend the kids "
and then you wonder why the other sides' kids is winning :francis:

so parents of public school students should spend millions of dollars advocating for the federal law about phone jammers to be changed?

I think there are things that can be tried before that.

money doesn't even have to be spent. i was just comparing the willingness and mentality of winners and losers.
many important legal battles in this country, that effect you to this day, were won by someone who had the audacity to think beyond "that's legal/illegal"

Or the schools can amend the policy.

Nah if a child lacks the discipline to function in a place of learning without their phone, it is not on the district to accommodate that parental failure. The PARENT needs to homeschool their child if that's the case. It's not on public institutions to change the rules so some aimless child can be coddled.

It's that kind of thinking that got everything fukked up as is. Seriously man, cmon now.
