This really isn't that hard. All students must turn in their phones at the start of the school day, pick them up at the start of scheduled breaks and then return them at the end of the break. If a student refuses to return their phone the parents are contacted. If the parent can't be reached, they sit in the office until they give up their phone. If the whole day passes with no response from the parent and the student adamantly refuses to return the phone, then they've made their choice.

fukking around on the phone is more important than their education and the parent has cosigned that by refusing to call the school back. The next call is the staff informing the parents that the student is suspended for two days or will have detention at break times.

Teachers getting physical with students are risking everything they worked for. It's not worth it and the administrators at the school have a responsibility to make sure there are clear protocols for teachers to follow so foolishness like this doesn't happen again. If it's a staffing issue because they live in a retarded state like Florida or Texas, then it should just be an automatic suspension. Weed out the kids that don't give a shyt about their future so the ones that have hope can learn and go on to actually give back to the community.

Why would they though?

There's 50+ million children in public schools. The amount of kids acting like maniacs over this shyt is negligible.

They aren't over hauling the entire system to cater to a handful of people. The GA girl got locked up and the TN girl was also charged. The writing is on the wall as far as how this plays out and people keep trying to "solve" it. It's already been solved, some of you just don't like how.


Which is fine but home school is your only option.

"Parents are failing these kids" is the new "thoughts and prayers" response to violent reactions to kids getting their phones taken. Nothing will change until you actually amend these policies and try a new approach.
