I will also remind them that their police department has a bigger budget than it’s ever had and still is failing them.

That's because SWAT vehicles and shyt don't actually prevent crime. Community policing the only way. And that's people capital, not new toys.

But I think the violent crime trend that @Matt504 is talking about is all fine and good, but in the Rust Belt cities, COVID really fukked over alot of head way they made in crime. I know for a in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana violent crime dropped for something like 12 years straight and in some cases like 8-9%

But 2020-21 had a lot of people starving. I think in 2022 we'll see a drop again though.

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
I use to live down the street from his FD home. Rochester is really rough and depressing. Met some of my closet friends there but most of them knew to get up and move out or around. A lot of the Black Americans friends I have, have roots in NC. A good 10% relocated there after college

Rochester and most black people of The Finger Lakes and Western New York have roots in Carolina and Florida. You meet the occasional person who is rooted elsewhere in The South like Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Maryland, but most black folk I met there are heavily connected to Carolina and Florida. It's an interesting study...

People that say that are either indenial or Live in heavily gentrified areas (l.a., n.y.c, the bay area, Seattle etc) so their perception is skewed,

then you have the few that grew up during the crack era and lowkey wanna still maintain bragging rights for lack of a better term. :yeshrug:

I think it's fair to point out some cities are seeing All-Time record levels of homicide and violence while others aren't...

I'm more surprised to learn that this, a rate not even at 40/100k, is Roc's worst era/All-Time high. But I understand these things all have nuance to them--->Roc is one of the most authentically gangster places I've ever been as far as street culture goes. Those dudes are different...

I was locked up with a nikka from Rochester he was telling me how nikkas was still selling crack out there like the 80’s

This is a fact, and Roc dudes be on the road with it. After Borough dudes, who everyone know been getting money in other people states and towns for generations, Roc dudes are just like that, be in random spots taking drugs and running it up...
