I’ll change the title

Give me something

I don’t know - haven’t thought about it much. The first thing that came to mind was a play on Games of Thrones’ A Song of Ice and Fire i.e.. A Series of Ice and Thunder - and then all the other stuff you added about the official thread.

Or something about wolves howling at a storm. It would be easier if these teams had some sort of beef to play off of. I’ll think about it.

This is going to be a tough one for Minnesota. The big question is how much does Rudy Gobert plays. OKC loves to crash the paint and swarm in the paint on defense.

Rudy being limited on offense is a killer for Minnesota.
Rudy gonna be one of the Wolves X factor. I'm thinking OKC in 6 or 7....but Wolves vs Knicks in Finals would be epic with the Villanova ties and that AT&T commercial would get major play.

We'll see how Minny looks playing against a balanced team for once.

None of this playing against the Lakers with a 40-year-old wing as a defensive anchor because they don't have a frontcourt, and none of this playing against the Warriors without their best player (who'd otherwise be stuck in the lottery) also too without a frontcourt.
But what about OKC finally playing against a team where 3 of their top 4 players arent battling injury or sickness.

Or OKC not facing a team with 6-7 playable guys who just fired their coach/GM 3 games before the playoffs

Of the 4 conference finalists, MIN got the most fortunate draw and still didn't look impressive... so it's hard to gauge how capable they are. i.e. Sleep walking/playing down to the level of their opponent vs major flaws about to be exposed by a now battle-tested team.

Julius was fantastic, however Chet/IHart is the modern Ben/Rasheed tandeem defensively. Hell, this Thunder team is basically '04 Pistons status with the physical defense. So it'll be interesting to see how Randle deals with it and where that leaves Gobert.
That's another thing. Even tho Wolves/Knicks Finals would be epic....Wolves didn't look very impressive against a Steph Curry-less Warriors. It really is hard to measure how capable they will be against a team that may be ready especially how well OKC played today. I honestly thought Nuggs was gonna do what the Warriors did to Rockets in that Game 7 last round. I didn't see game but OKC was hungry and wanted it and played phenomenal. Hard to measure how Wolves will handle this.

And that's a fair critique too.

But I think the difference here is, Minny's flaws have been less exposed because they've faced teams with a more considerable imbalance. At least the Thunder have been met with some resistance, whereas Minny has been playing downhill all postseason, causing folks to overrate them. Whereas we've had posters disrespect OKC and underrate them.
