Ain't no local Detroiter going to pay that kind of money. They taking their asses to Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, or at the very least Grosse Point. For $10k/month, I want the Manoogian Mansion.

To be fair, I could see some non-local auto exec renting it for the work week, then fly out for the weekends. Yes, $10k is cheap for the equivalent in most major cities.

Wow!!!! Jay Morrison cooked the hell out of Vlad. That was downright embarrassing to watch. When Vlad admitted that he bought and sold his homes and "Just" broke even, but still couldn't calculate the ROI of recouping his family's living expenses, I could have stopped the video right there. If you put a down payment and pay a monthly mortgage on a house that would otherwise cost $10k/month to rent, and after 4 years, you sell the home and get back all you invested, that's a ROI of $480k (Your cost of living). Now imagine if Jay asked Vlad to deduct his rent from his stock capital gains. Vlad was showing classic survivorship bias. Vlad made some money in stocks, now he's confident its the best way to make money, without any knowledge of alternative methods.
