Hes definitely better than Cousins right now

I don't think so.

22.7 PPG (on 50% shooting), 11.7 RPG, 2.9 APG, 1.5 SPG, 1.3 BPG vs. 20.8 PPG (on 52% shooting), 10.0 RPG, 1.6 APG, 1.3 SPG, 2.8 BPG

other than for blocks, Cousins has him beat across the board. i don't think Cousins is the best thing since sliced bread, but his production is better RIGHT NOW than Davis. Yes, Davis is 2.5 years younger, however, Cousins numbers from his second season (18.1 ppg, 11.0 rpg, 1.6 APG) aren't too far off Davis's numbers last year. Plus Cousins was better as a rookie.

I like Davis potential to be a better player defensively and he'll be a perennial all-star. But this best player in the league talk needs to die down. He's literally done nothing to warrant that. He's simply a good young player. Hell another guy from his own class has been better so far (Damian Lillard).

:dead: @ adding 15lbs of muscle...fukk outta here with that in such a short amount of time. Y'all will believe any type of bullshyt.

15 lbs might be tough but if the dude started eating right and hitting the weights in the spring or towards the end of the season 5-10 lbs is realistic. The dude was skin and bones breh

in order to utilize this corner 3, AD has to be outside the paint and chill at the 3. Why are we keeping AD out of the paint.

He does everything better than cousins.... Literally.

You're posting stats without looking at usage.

what does that have to do with rebounds. cousins is a better scorer, better rebounder, better passer. only thing Davis has on him is blocks. cousins is even better getting in the passing lanes and getting steals.

and even if Davis is better than Cousins, thats beside the point. the fact no one was saying Cousins would be the best player in the league in 2 seasons after he put up 18/11 as a sophmore makes me wonder why nikkas is saying that about Davis when he only put up 21/10 last year? 3 more points scoured, 1 less rebound. is that the difference between franchise/league defining talent and just a good young player.

i think Davis is good, don't get me wrong. but the hyperbole by some of you cats is ridiculous. he's not in class with kobe, lebron, shaq, duncan. those were league defining players for the last 15-20 years. davis wont be that. he'll be a great player in the chris webber mold. multiple time all-star, MVP candidate one or two years, leads his team to several playoff appearances. but never the best player on a title squad. and definitely not the best player in the league.

You have never watched him play talking like this. He was better than Boogie after his first week @ Kentucky.

Numbers are nearly a wash and I'm sure Cousins has the ball in his hands more

AD is a defensive force, it easily sets him apart from Cousins

And shoots at a terrible percentage as well.

AD is the better player, easy

edit: you know what, cousins has improved his percentage quite a bit. I thought he was still in the mid 40s...not bad

AD > Cousins still though.

whether he's better than Cousins (a decent but not great player IMO) is beside the point. my initial post that got you guys riled up was in response to some nikka saying Davis would be the best player in the league in 2 years. i simply put up the comparison with Cousins to show why that statement is asinine. you can prefer davis over cousins, but you can't say he's light years ahead. they're both decent young bigs. but thats it.

neither is gonna be the best player in the NBA anytime soon if ever. in 2016, the best player will be lebron or durant.

You're making my point...cousins is touches the ball more than fukking Lebron and has similar stats to Davis. Think about that shyt for a second. If Davis had the same amount of touches his numbers offensively would be spectacular and would breeze by cousins. I really like cousins as a player but dude holds himself back with how emotional he gets on the court.

You're swinging and missing here big time. 99% of the league would take Davis over cousins.

Correction, 100% of the league would take Davis over Cousins

Davis needs more touches next season

If you dont watch AD play, its hard to explain his impact defensively. He covers more ground than anyone I can remember, he is an absolute force
