Is being compared to Chris Webber a bad thing? C-Webb helped revolutionize the PF position. I don't care what you wanna say about Webber in crunch time and all that other shyt. Chris Webber was a bad man on the basketball court. He shouldn't have been able to do the things he was capable at his size. Webber had ELITE athleticism. One of the best passing big men to ever play. Had some of the best hands as well. Don't disrespect C-Webb, I ain't having it. If AD becomes another C-Webb then that makes him a hall of famer.

never said that. I think he's a great young player with a great future. but more along the lines of Chris Webber NOT Tim Duncan. I don't see him as a transcendant player which is what he would be, if he was the best player in the NBA in 2 years (he'd only be 22 years old). I was responding to this statement and was shocked that others were agreeing with it, since I haven't seen anything to suggest he'd be transcendant.

I'm glad you mentioned Love, Griffin, and Howard. To me they are the definition of paper tigers. Great numbers but not great impact. They're the best at their position but only because the PF and C position is right now historically weak. None of them will ever be the best player in the league. Too many flaws. And none will be the best player on a title team.

and you can stick those advanced metrics up your ass. I trust my eyes and what I see. not a bunch of shyt created by some stats geeks that never played a sport in their lives. Kevin Love should be exhibit A why no one should pay attention to that shyt. that fat cac is garbagio.

Only thing i really disagree with here is Dwight had impact while in orlando. Dude was a top 5 player and multiple DPOY. Someone like kevin love puts up useless stats but his team is cheeks.

@Swagnificent defending his Coliseum WOAT title with aplomb in this thread :snoop:
@Swagnificent may not be completely wrong this time. How many times during the offseason do we sit here and watch coli posters annoint who supposedly got next only to see it never to come to fruition? I keep seeing in 2 years he's going to be the best player in the league. Ok, so lets wait 2 years and see.

this. i'm not dissing the kid. i think he'll be great. but best player in the league? guys like KG, Webb, Barkley, Malone, etc. were never best in the league. those were HOFers in their prime.

to me if you say he's gonna be best in the league, that means you think he'll be transcendant like Kobe, LeBron, Shaq, Jordan. an all-time top 10-20 great. I simply don't know how anyone could say that about Davis after just two seasons and his biggest accomplishment being finishing 2nd in ROY. I only compared him to Cousins cause dude ain't getting this type of hype yet has put up comparable production at comprable ages.

let's wait and see if he becomes great rather than annoiting him prematurely. how many of ya'll were ready to annoit Tyreke Evans after he averaged 20/5/5 as a rookie? thats all.

As long he work on his post game I cool with it.

Now with Asik covering the paint, AD covering the around the perimeter is a scary sight.

once again i don't care about davis vs. cousins. i simply don't think davis is worthy of the hype some of ya'll give him. he might be better than cousins, but he is not that great. the fact cousins (who many people don't think much of) produces the same and is only slightly older should be evidence to that fact.

davis will NEVER be the best player on a title team. that is all. and if he can't do that, then he'll never be best player in the league, let alone best in the next 2 years WHICH IS WHAT I WAS RESPONDING TO.
That team must have a REALLY good #1 if AD isn't the best player.

Tell me how karl malone's and charles barkley corner 3 game was. :rudy:

Not only are you talking about players with fundamentally different builds and talents, but Charles Barkley - my favorite player ever - eventually fell in love with the 3, even before his athleticism faded, and missed that shot at a historic rate... so maybe he should've been practicing more corner 3s.

C-Webb's narrative is totally skewed by "the timeout," a couple passive possession in the playoffs, and being failed against the Lakers by the refs, Peja, and Doug Christie. If the Kings win the chip that year, history would remember him as one of the most unique players we've ever seen.

Your right about barkley after that 93 finals he went into fukk it mode and started shooting 3's like he was thunder dan. He was awful from there, but i think he realized he couldn't beat people with just his athleticism anymore and he was wayyy undersized so he had to re-invent his game per say. The problem was he was an awful shooter
