Any body spending the holidays alone this year?

I recently had to cut my immediate family off and moved to Florida and spending the holidays with just my girl. We both are completely away from family for the first time. The only difference is i dont talk to my family and she talks to hers. Its been fukking with me lately. If youre without family during the holidays how do you handle it? What do you do to keep your mind off of it?

Ive spent some holidays alone bruh. You’ve just got to make it thru thanksgiving and christmas day Tbh. Then shyt goes right back to being normal. If i was you i’d take a mini getaway somewhere. Me personally, I have a conversion van so i’ll probably just chill at the beach or a national park, stock up on snacks, smoke some trees, watch the game and its all good. Dont forget to thank god for all your blessings too. You aint the only one who grew up with a toxic family

due to some family in-fighting we not even having a big get together this year for thanksgiving. who knows about xmas.




i've missed some years in the past though.

i usually just loaded up a good show to watch multiple episodes to distract myself. got something to drink and smoke and just chilled.

next day everything back to normal.

We are planning on going to the movies and smoke all day. Im cooking for us too. The hardest part right now is hearing everybody talk about going to see their family. I kinda feel giilty for taking my girl away from her family. She was 100% for the move and says it doesnt bother her but i know it does.

I'm taking 4 weeks off over xmas and going overseas so I wont see any family.

haven't seen them since Feb because I live interstate and none of them even called me on my birthday (January), let alone try to talk to me during the year..

and they expect me to fly 5hrs to see them every few months yet not one of them can ever come to see me...


it's kind of depressing and that's why I'm just going to an island so I can relax on a beach and try forget all that shyt

Luckily for you, you have a gf to spend time with during the holidays. A lot of people will not be around family during the holidays, so you aren't alone.

IMO, the best thing you and your gf can do is take a trip somewhere or perhaps you can visit some friends or visit your gf's side of the family, if you are cool with them.

I think holiday depression is a state of mind. The key is to keep self occupied with something because there is always something to do. It could also be a great time to catch up on projects that were put off or you can utilize your time to relax.

I cut my family off a long time ago...

Holidays are just another day to me... I'll be playing Red Dead and cooking a turkey for me and my dog... it'll be his last thanksgiving ... so he'll get his turkey leg and pass out happy most the day


I work from home on apartments so I also just go work on vacant apartments on Christmas and shyt...

Only holiday that i spend with family is Thanksgiving.

It would hikey fukk with me if i didn't do one even thought im not on good speaking terms with a majority of them. It's in my blood

Christmas, new years, easter i can do without family. I need Thanksgiving it's a tradition
