Relationships are like business cycles, they are up and they are down. What you have to consider for yourself is whether the good outweighs the bad. For me, it does. That being the case, over the aggregate time we have been married I have found myself happy about my marriage far more than being unhappy. So if asked, I would state that I am happy in my relationship even if at the time I may be on one of those down turns.

So really, I judge my relationship based on how it has been going overall instead of how it is going at the moment. Only a few things can change that manner of judgement for me, and those things are actions that cross a line that I am unwilling to accept (like infidelity).
