NES was the first console I have real memories of playing. My parents particularly my mom was into Atari. So while they bought the Nintendo for my sister and I. My mom played the shyt out of it. But man did we have so many games so spent many hours playing it

I got a Genesis when the SNES was popular. The Genesis was the first console that was independently mine.

The N64 is probably the only Nintendo system that could rival my enjoyment of the NES. The wii was fun, but no real attachment to it. I as a retro collector finally got around to playing the GameCube and just not a deep enough library to put it in the N64 or NES territory.

NES still the GOAT console to me and Mario 3 is still the most blown away I've ever been by a video game. SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1 were all great, but none can match the memories I made with the NES. From the Gun with Duck Hunt, to discovering turbo with the NES Max, to the Powerglove :mjlol: everything was so innovative and mind-blowing at the time. Beating Zelda 2 when I was seven without help is still one of the greatest feelings of accomplishments I've ever felt.

some of my best gaming memories. drawing maps for Metroid. lists of passwords. beating Contra without the code. beating Mike Tyson. warp zones and 'infinite' lives in SMB. bombing every wall, and burning every bush, in Zelda. rumors about breaking the backboard in Double Dribble. Bubble Bobble :ohlawd:

With the exception of Metroid (never played it as a kid), those were my exact same experiences and proudest moments. I still pop my sh*t to non-believers that I beat Contra with no code a gazillion times back in the day. Knocking out Tyson in the first round. Beating Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2. Beating TMNT multiple times. Etc.

My oldest brother just turned 50. We and my other brother would probably all say our fondest gaming memory together was this one Saturday we spent all day playing Bubble Bobble together, with our mom even taking an interest. Shyt, my favorite birthday present ever was getting a NES on my 8th birthday.

NES is synonymous with childhood, friendships, sibling connections, sleepovers, and beef everlasting from trading games that somehow end up like Raekwon's Killer tape, for an entire generation of us :flabbynsick:

I got the NES from the JC Penny Catalogue, back when I was a kid, but it had to have been out a few years since I and It launched in 85 so I can't remember exactly how old I was, but I remember playing the hell out of it that Christmas. Mario Bros 1 with Duckhunt, Ninja Turtles since that was my fave cartoon, Had the Golden cartridge Zelda and I think my Uncle copped Mike Tyson's punch out and we both passed the controller about to see who could reach the farthest. I think I had to learn how to beat Piston Honda and then Great Tiger fukked us both up.
I can't remember who reached to Iron Mike first, but I remember being in a living room full of people shouting/screaming like it was an actual Tyson fight when we realized how quick/hard(pause) those matches were. I think I woke my uncle up at like 2am to show him how to Beat Iron Mike and he was sorta pissed.....until He tried to fight him and called me over to show him how after cursing me out a few days prior. :mjpls: Oddly enough, my Mom and Aunt(s) can't remember it, but they used to play the fukk out of Dr Mario despite not liking games at all.
Living in the Caribbean, you're gaming library was only as strong as the neighbourhood you lived in, so I had to borrow/lend games from older cats who actually had an idea what to purchase or could purchase it themselves when they went abroad, since my games only came from Christmas/Birthdays and those were always a risk due to my lackluster report cards and my fun hating Pops so my gaming pool was shallow at times. :francis:I think it was my copy of Abadox, that caused me to get frustrated, (Looking back the game wasn't that bad, I just wasn't into those games as a young kid), yank it out of my NES toaster and slam it sideways onto the ground, causing the chip to 'disappear' into the housing and freak the absolute shyt out of me because I thought I destroyed it. It was an X-mas present and I was dead scared on my Mom's learning I broke it 'cause she certainly wasn't going to buy me shyt. Can't remember how I got around to letting this one older cat I used to lend games from about it, was possibly through his younger bro, but I brought it to him, he opened it up, checked the chip was fine, set it back in place and it worked. :leon: A young breh was eternally grateful and dude really put me on game which eventually lead us to form an unlikely friendship, that resulted in us pulling a caper one summer when me, him and a few others got alot of our games stolen by this one cat on some soft break in bullshyt. Lost my dikk Tracy, Double Dribble, Elevator Action and Contra, and I remember him being super upset at losing Golgo 13 even though I hated that game with a passion back then. We did some semi-fukk shyt, got a few of HIS games and switched the choice ones out for Mario Bros/Duckhunt and I think I sacrificed a Bible Adventures game. :bryan: Duke had a fukking aneurism when he turned on Wrestlemania and saw Mario pop up on the screen, from what I was told. Prolly caught a stroke when he realized a few of his other games had the same confusing phenomenon going on. fukk him and his thieving ass Lil bro. NES gave me memories, man.
