Any songs that you avoid listening to because they hit you too hard emotionally?

Tupac's "Unconditional Love" and there's another Tupac song that isn't coming to mind immediately . . I'm pretty sure it's "Smile" though, especially when Scarface does that prayer at the end

Pac got a million of 'em

It's a great song, but I can't listen to "It's Your World" by Common. The imagery at the beginning reminds me too much of friends that gave up on school, and his father's poem at the end makes me miss mine.

I also can't listen to "Under Pressure" by Logic. The last half of the song makes me realize I ain't shyt for not keeping in better touch with the family I have left.

i dont really avoid it. i enjoy that connection to music...but it can be odd going to work and all of a sudden you in deep thought almost on the verge of tearing up because some shyt was a little too relatable.

That nostalgic aspect about songs takin you back down memory lane is really amazing. Music has such a big connection to your memory & emotions, crazy :wow:
I dont avoid those songs, but I often listen to them when I'm in that mood and ready for it. Sometimes they also come on on shuffle, and I just let em play and get nostalgic.
Its also important how your life goes atm. If its dope, the nostalgia is different than when everythings kinda fukked up....

Some songs that take me back and give me that certain feeling:

-juicy - B.I.G
-paparazzi - Xzibit
-the one and only - snoop
-tradin war stories - Pac & Outlawz
-starin through my rearview - Pac,
-rollin - Juice & Game
-Who Got The Juice Now - Juice & Game
-piss poor - nipsey & cuzzy capone
-they roll - nipsey & game
-walk in my shoes - nipsey, yung brodee & rimpau
-all my life - nipsey
-the best - nipsey
-love? - Nipsey
-my own way - snoop
-the way life used to be - snoop
-hardest man in town - nate dogg
-majesty - mase
-throw em up - master p, kane & abel
-stop hatin - master p, fiend, silkk, mo b. dikk & o'dell
-bourbons & lac - master p, silkk, lil gotti & mo b. dikk
-gangstas need love - master p, silkk & mercedes
-mr potato head - game
-old gunz - Game & RockStar (or Beanie Feel It In The Air, its the beat that gets me but I actually listened to games version first and its also dope)

thats just a couple, but a connection with a certain song can really hit you emotionally when you hear them again. Best example are those tracks by Nipsey & Master P. Was the soundtrack of my last summer which was GOAT, and when I hear those songs now its a bit :mjcry:
