Let's discuss
To elaborate more on my stance to add to the discussion;
I believe that phrase (thread title) is a very accurate one and doesn't necessarily relates to Gods, Goddesses, or even extra-terrestrial/Dimensional beings. for example, let's say there is some indigenous tribes still surviving in 2014 who have never once seen anything from their 'outside' (not even modern day tissue). if you or I showed up at their village or community with GPS devices, Global SIM Cellphones, Laptops with Wifi Access, and all our other technology - we would undoubtedly be seen as 'other worldly' and our devices would be what the indigenous people attribute as our tools which grants us 'powers'.
Ignorance (not in the derogatory format but the literal format and definition) is nothing more than not being knowledgeable about something. when we as humans tend to not have a valid explanation (valid being the functioning term meaning 'arrived at a researched, fact checked and reproducible understanding') we comfort either our own fears or ego's and attribute it to something greater or different than us.
Before Doppler Radars and software to plot out weather patterns, the weather telling was left to specialized individuals who utilized keen observations of terrestrial and celestial changes and 'landmarks' to predict future weather events. and when this wasn't sufficient enough, they gave praise to different deities for blessings in upcoming seasons and months.
I love thinking about the origin of God and Life, and I tend to contemplate theories I'd like to expand upon but just for example, I saw something that made me think about the story of creation in the Christian and Jewish Holy Books of the Old Testament in relation to Adam and Eve. so for shyt's and giggles;
*
What if Adam and Eve is nothing more than an allegorical tale about a scientist splitting an "atom"? What if Adam and Eve were never real individuals? but were symbolic of some ancient understood science or branch of knowledge?
either way, the stories in all religious books (Current Religion and Ancient Religion aka Mythology) all have magical elements to it. if we are to take them for face value and believe these beings actually did exist at some point in time in earth's history then the manner in which they executed various feats would be seen as "magic" to us if we had no knowledge of or were ignorant to these beings technology and technical knowledge.
All in All, Magic and Technology are one in the same and will be interchangeable terminology in the very near future.
