this won't end well :patrice:
traditionally whenever words like "magic" or "conspiracy" get brought up HL goes full retard :russ:but let's hope for the best.

before even talking about magic you have to define it, so everyone is working from the same definition.

mag·ic
ˈmajik/
noun
  1. 1.
the power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces.

and i think the bold is where most folks differ, because things occur in this universe all the time that we can't explain or that we don't know how they happened, nobody is disputing that.

the difference is some would consider that a natural phenomena that we simply cant explain yet, while others, because we don't fully understand the phenomena or the processes that bring it about, would call it "magic" because of the degree of unknown factors--and by definition neither side is really incorrect.

but i also think mysterious and supernatural have two very different meanings. im actually surprised to see those two words together in this definition because things happen mysteriously all the time, but that doesn't equate to being supernatural. in fact i dont agree with the term "supernatural" because it infers an existence or occurrence beyond the natural environment, which i don't think is possible.

i think where i differ most from western educated folks is what i include in "natural" phenomena. to me things like telekenesis and telepathy are natural phenomena. telekenesis is moving matter with the mind and we do that all the time. telepathy is defined as reading other people's thoughts, which also, we do all the time :yeshrug: so neither one of those things is "supernatural," we just don't fully understand their mechanics.

this could actually be a very fruitful discussion if folks could debate maturely... but this is HL so :demonic:
