I notice that this term is being thrown around in regards to reparations. Anybody using it to me is suspect, including members of groups that have already received reparations in some way shape or form in the past. And that also includes black people that aren't AA or are suggesting it's divisive?
Why the fukk is it divisive? please tell me that. Straight up. So why is reparations for AA divisive, and not the millions of times white people gave themselves handouts all throughout history? Why is that divisive but France's post-colonial taxation of 14 African countries that still goes on to this day not divisive? White people got the nerve to say that cause we had Obama and cause we got BET or some bullshyt that's reparatiojns
Deadass...this convo got fukking people that are representatives of companies that still profiting from slavery saying that reparations are divisive.
This convo got white folks basically admitting that they want to juelz their way out of taking any responsibility or accountability for racism...but they still want to benefit from the privilege racism affords them.

This convo also has reveled that white people simply have no desire to want to right the wrongs of the past, commit themselves to establishing any sort of equality or restorative justice, and absolutely refuse to play on an even playing field.

At this point, even though I'm African and West Indian and have no horse in this race in regards to reparations, I'm really starting to understand the frustration alot of AAs have with the Democrats and Republicans...both have pretty much said no...but they want the black vote so bad and I don't think they deserve it. Socialism was never really that much in the American discussion in the past five years, unless it comes to the subject of reparations...as a deflection. Dems seem to want to avoid the discussuon of income and wealth inequality in regards to race...they can acknowledge that the legacy of slavery is a stain on the country but they can't face the reality that the economic warfare that was waged against blacks following slavery and the end of the civil war was by design to keep Black Americans as a permanent underclass.

The reparations debate is really stifled by people who don't want to admit that they were and are the benefifciaries of privilege and on the right side of inequality. Socialist programs like UBI and Medicare for All isn't going to attempt to fix what was decades upon decades of manipulation designed to create, keep, and maintain and underclass.
REPARATIONS ARE NECCESSARY AND MUST BE HANDED OUT/
I'm not just talking money given out to the families of slave descendents.
I;'m talking all of these banks, universities, colleges, businesses that profitted from slavery must give significant percentages of what they made BACK to AA/ADOS/AMERICAN BLACKS!
I'm talking FREE Education/College/University to all AMERICAN BLACKS!
I'm talking expungement/dismissal of ALL outstanding loans/student loans/mortgages to American BLACK PEOPLE.
I'm talking about the closure of institutions related to slavery that still actively profit from it.
I'm talking about bailouts for Black banks
